Don't get tan in Porsche because they make the dash also tan, and it reflects on the windshield. Go to a Porsche dealership and look at all the tan cars that are outside, look through the windshield. Maybe it isn't annoying to you, but, it would stop me from ever getting a tan interior.
I drove a friends Panamera that had tan and it was terrible.

I'd look into a used 911 S personally, they hold their value better. I'd avoid a new Boxster, as those tank in value - also those are for chicks. Cayman is somewhere in the middle.
I used to be all for the Cayman because Ma hardtop and rigidity but really the Boxster will be more emotional and cool when you have the roof down. The sound they make is fucking sex and getting to hear that with the roof down would be worth the slight loss of power and rigidity.

Depreciation wise, per year cost, the Boxsters just take such a hit. That was my main comment. As far as chick cars, I think all convertibles are not just Boxsters. 911 S's, new, end up costing you like 10k per year over 4 years (obviously the initial hit being the first year) and I think that's pretty reasonable.

The Spyder is cool, but it's nowhere near as hardcore as the GT4.
That said, good luck getting a GT4, especially in the spec you want, and if OP could afford a GT4 he could afford a mid-spec 911.
Anyway, my choice would be the Cayman. I'm a big fan of coupes and don't really like 'verts, and the hard top means less fuckery if you want to take it to the track.
I'd personally buy a used 997S, though.

Not him, but the standard Boxster is the base model, the Black Edition seems like an all-black version like the name implies (possibly limited, don't really know), Boxster S has a bigger, more powerful engine, different chassis and a little spoiler as well as some more stuff standard, and the Spyder is basically a convertible GT4.

The Boxster S is the one I have it's got a 3.4 engine and feels notably quicker with 310HP. However, it doesn't feel frighteningly fast.
