What is the most comfy car that's affordable?
>>

an old Lexus LS
>>
Lincoln Town Car.
>>
Panther platform with leather
Buick Regal FWD W-body models
LS400
>>
>>14272762
cadillacs from the 90's like seville STS, Eldorado, Deville, Brougham. Seville and Eldo will definetly have headgasket problems so other 3 cars are great choice.
>>
>>14272765
this

feels too comfy for me... its like riding on a cloud.

For this reason I can't drive any lexus for more than 2 hours, otherwise i start nodding off at the wheel
>>
>>14272762
Couch with wheels attachewd to it.

Pic related deserves consideration here in bongland. The diesels are certified reliable, you can pick one up for about £800 and it'll be fairly economical to boot.

Buuuuuuuut, it still has to go to >>14272765. Partly because the Lexus is just a couple of classes above the Rover generally, and partly because a 75 diesel just won't have the power for really effortless motorway cruising. Petrol v8 in the Lexus would push running costs up a fair bit out here, but not so much as to be outside the reach of the vast majority of people.

>Comfort
>American

Pick one. American cars just aren't comfy. Unless you think lying in a bath tube full of water that's on the back of a trailer and being driven around is comfy.

Buy an old S Class and be done with it.
>>
>>14272986
A bath tube? So it's enclosed so the water doesn't spill out?

If it's properly secured so it won't roll around, and if the truck rides well, that actually does sound very comfy.
>>
>>14272986
People who talk about american cars and think they are good never drove an german car like mercedes, audi or bmw. I dont get why amerifats allways try to defent there cars. If you compare them they cant compete in any way.
>>
>>14272954
OP said COMFY, not reliable fag lord.
>>
>>14273009
You ever see that episode of the Simpson where Homer and someone else decide do to one of those tranquil bath experiences. And the Tub he is is on taken away and gets carted around the city getting battered and bruised. And then at the end said the experience was fantastic.

That is exactly what people who buy American cars for comfort are doing.
>>
>>14272986
>>14273035
>My plastic, LED-coated 3 series is so much more comfortable and luxurious

Our cars sell for reasons beyond a fucking badge
>>
>>14273098
Confirmed for never driven in the back seat of an american land-yacht
>>
>>14273102
What like because they have XXXL sized cup holders? And are the only cars with seats wide enough for Amerifat asses?

>>14273103
Many of times. And while I admit a 63 Cadillac De Ville I was had the pleasure of driving and riding in was nice. It wasn't comfy. None of them were by the same standard European cars or Japanese cars are. I'd imagine they're ok if your entire journey is alone one poker straight immaculately well maintained road. Then nope.

What is affordable?
If you want comfort and dynamic then saab is a good choice. Seats are really comfortable and interior is driver oriented. And it has more than 200hp.
>>
>>14273157
>yuropean cars more comfy than merican land yachts

cause they never fucking work which means you get to chill at home all day

>calling americans fat

>>
>>14273256
>I don't have an argument against that so I'll just call you shit.

Also how can you even say European cars aren't comfy at all? When American cars can only dream of every been as comfortable as a Rolls or a Bentley.
>>
>>14273306
When did I say they weren't comfy at all?
I commented that they are unreliable.
>inb4 that is irrelevant
I know it is, I was being a douchebag on purpose.

I just feel that the BMWs/Mercedes I've ridden in were nothing special compared to the classic American luxury sedans that I've also experienced. I will concede though that Rolls Royce are comfy. Can't comment on Bentleys as I have no experience with them.
>>
>>14273361

High end Mercs like the S Class, and the BMW 7 Series in my opinion are far better than their American counterparts. The Jag XJ is probably the most comfy car I've ever been in, in that class.

The American cars I've driven and been ridden in just are too wallowy. Maybe American and Europeans have different ideas of comfy.

It's a very subjective topic after all.

Summary: We disagree

>>14272762
OP, just drop like 5k on an old Lincoln from the 70s or 80s.

You might even be able to afford an occasional biscuit or something while gas prices are low.
>>
>>14273386
The guy will pay me to take it away. That kind of affordable.
>>

>gas almost hitting $5/gal

>gas almost hitting $5/gal

lol wot

It's $1.57 where I'm at.

When you factor inflation, gas is as cheap as it's ever been.

Renault 25. Preferably Baccara V6. Comfyness will be reduced only if it is automatic as working on malfunctioning 80's longitudinal Renault automatic gearbox cramped under the car on your back on cold concrete floor is hugely uncomfy.

Jaguar XJ6/8 are by far the most comfortable, since you still feel connected to the road. They also handle the nicest, from '89 onward anyway.
>>
>>14272833
In the last comfy thread I posted the check list of what I wanted in my future "handjobs on vacation" car. Pretty much dialed in to getting a mid 2000s town car. FUCK those things seem to drip class. Also because uber, it seems like the price is DROPPING on ones that are or soon will be out of uber range.

SO many 03-06 town cars for 3K or under. Probably looking to buy next summer. Can't wait to see these fall even lower.

My first car. Like driving a couch.

Banged many a girl in the back seat during HS.
>>
>>14273618
Why do new car interiors not look like this? Did they sacrifice comfort for safety?
>>
>>14275717
Well, buy one with an auto, then. There are more of them.

Personally I'm so used to manuals that changing gear is completely unconscious, and it's nice to be able to downshift on my own terms. Though I'd agree that the most comfy car possible would be an auto with optional paddles.
