Whats your car insurance? And monthly rate?

About to switch to metromile (pay as you go) and save roughly 50% ($84 vs $48) compared to progressive.

This screenshot was a couple of the most expensive quotes I got for a 1996 Volvo 440. The cheaper quotes would cost me around £2-2.5k.
I have a clean record, I just live in the UK and I'm young. Looks like my first car will be a gutless fiesta

Hyundai Accent mate

My first year (at 18) was in a Hyundai Accent 1.5 MVi. 101hp, 890KG, surprisingly fun to throw about and only ran me £91 a month. Hell I've still got it if you're in Scotland I'll be happy to sell you it

>Scotland
Kek I'm in Essex

I have seen a couple Accents around, but I'm still leaning on Ford Fiesta/Escort.

I'm open to almost anything though, just as long as the insurance for the year, any taxes/fees, and initial purchase price comes under £2k
>>

What the fuck man? How do you even manage to get prices this high?
>>
>>14219246
Seriously, get a 3 door Accent MVi if you see one about, they're warm hatches that no one expects to be fun

I just scrolled to the bottom, for shits and giggles. None of them were even fully comprehensive too, which sucked. The cheapest ones were around £2k.

That price makes the £10k I was once quoted for a 2004(?) Porsche Cayenne quite reasonable I think.

Really, if you can swallow the insurance prices for some cars, not all, then the UK is an okay place to live concerning cars.

I shall keep my eyes peeled for them, and for ordinary ones. All my needs (other than the price) is a cheap to run & buy and somewhat reliable commuter, or at least have cheap parts.

That's the shit I can't swallow yet, been here for 5 months, It'll take sometime getting used to the idea that In here its normal for first time drivers to pay 2k insurance on a Nissan Micra with 100k miles.

I was getting ~35mpg from my Accent and in 3 years all it's needed has been a new wiper motor, 6 tyres, rear springs and a timing belt running me a total of about £500.
>>

Crikey that's not bad, considering most of that (if not all) is consumable items anyway

Yeah, the engine is a little soft (timing every 75,000 miles, it's nearly due again) but otherwise it's a great wee motor.
