Hey /o/
I have some 5x114.3 wheels I want to put on a 4x114.3 car. I know I can use adapters. The other choice is to fill and redrill. Problem is, these wheels don't have a central lug cover to cover up the redrilling. Would this be possible to do cleanly, or clean up enough that it wouldn't look like ass?
>pic related, a redrilled wheel that HAS a lug cover

I got some redrilled BBS 5 to 4 lug, and they don't look near as nice as that, just aluminum piled into the old holes with a welder.
I don't think you're gonna get something nicer than your pic right there desu.
>>14214488
damn.
>BUT MUH ARs
I'm fully aware they're dumb wheels. I like them.
>>14214515
what wheels are those?
also
just use adapters

American Racing 39.
the most 90's wheel of all time.
these are 15x7. took me a long time to find them in the size I wanted.
>mfw I kept finding them in 16.5"
I can get adapters, but I've been told they're generally not the "Safest" way to do things, and if I'm putting distance on the car, I'd rather not have to do wheel bearings every few thousand miles.
>>14214587
damn anon, many thanks
what car is it? perhaps the higher end models had 5 lug hubs
>>14214587
Poser
>>14214515
Would be cheaper to get different spindles and rear axle than have someone redrill those in a non butcherous manner
>>14214610
1973 Toyota Celica.
nope, only 4 lug all the way.
The wheels themselves are generally not thought of as valuable or anything. They're still uncommon in a good bolt pattern or size.
I need to sand and re-clearcoat them.
>>14214467
Make sure the wheel has the same or larger hub diameter before drilling. Don't want to find out they won't fit after the fact.
>>14214614
Poser? why?
>>14214634
Yeah, probably. I honestly just figured I'd see if anyone had ever seen wheels redrilled in a non-butcherous manner.
>>14214637
>70's celica
its going to look interesting
>>14214650
>interesting
I'm sure.
>>14214587
could you have entirely new hubs made ?
>>14216933
Possibly, I suppose. I hadn't looked into that. It'd mean having to get the drums and discs redrilled.
I wish there was just a 5-lug swap you could get like you can with S13s.
>>14214515
>>14214637
they don't look so well with only 4 bolts
>>14214515
Heeeeeyyyy op.
I'm in th same position as you.
I want to gt a set of those exact ARs (or slotmags) for my Skyline and I can only ever find them in 6 lug for Hiluxes and Pajeros etc
>>14216981
but they'd fit the car without adapters then.
>>14216988
if you'd like I can find you some.
>>14214587
>not the safest way
Do you think drilling overlapping holes is safe?
Do you think weld-filling holes of a heat treated aluminum part is safe?
kekedeekek
>>14217984
5 wide will still fit some ok tires
just the 4 lug ones are only 14 inch dia
>>14218010
its true, I've already got a set of Direzza Star Spec Z1s sitting around in 15" that will be going on them.
>>14218001
holes shouldn't overlap that much.I'd just use one of the original holes. but if you say so...
>>14218001
this just run decent adapters, its not like an extra 1/2-1" of offset is going to destroy your bearings.
what happened to the hyundai?
>>14214587
Jesus, you ALWAYS saw those on nissan hardbody trucks.
>>14218037
Hyundai?
Also, I will be at work for a while. 4chins is blocked.
>>14214637
Didn't they make a version of those with a lug nut cover? Just get those and do that.
>>14218057
there is an anon that has a tiburon with those on it. i thought you were him. mb
>>14218057
try using https workaround
>>14214467
It's going to look like ass unless you have a machine shop fill in the old holes completely and drill in new ones factory-style. If that's how you want to spend $100-200 per wheel (generously assuming a $50/hr shop rate and only 2-4 hours per wheel) then go for it.
>>14218462
My roommate actually has a set of those, I'm not that big a fan.
>>14218832
I doubt I'll even be able to find a place that'll do it.
OP is a faggot who won't just run the correct wheels and tires for his car.
