its a 2007 Yamaha XT660R. i only ride XTs since 2012 before that i had a shitty scooter. went from 600e to 660r. its probably the best bike for my city (athens, greece)

>never breaks down, just put gas in it and it will get you to your destination
>can handle horrible greek roads with bumps and holes everywhere if your ass can handle its seat/suspension
>handles above the car's side mirrors so you can get through lines of stopped/slow cars without even braking
>looks great for my taste

im considering changing it for a Fazer 600-S2 in the near future.

sounds like a nice trip. if you come through greece id suggest the western way through ioannina -- agrinio - patra - athens instead of the main national salonica-athens road which is very dull. patra - athens road is a notorious deathtrap though.

this is the Lago di Resia in Italy it is a barrier lake and there was once a small town. The removed all ov the buildings except for the church tower as it was made only out of stone and therefore no harm for the water source.

It is a tourist attraction now. But I highly recommend going there in the late evening like after 7pm the sun is nicer then and there are less tourists.

pack a second sweater, it is better to have something to pull over and not be cold. riding while beeing cold is miserable.
Try to strap your backpack to the bike, at least I really dislike backpacks while riding

>are there many roads in the alps that are that low frequented so you can just stop on the road and take some pictures?
this picture was actually taken on the old closed down road of the Passo dello Stelvio you can sneek trough the barrier with a bike. The road there was still partly covered with snow there and isn't getting serviced anymore.
But besides that, with a bike you can stop pretty much everywhere and take a picture. not in the middle of open public roads though. But I guess in August is more traffic than in October when I went.

didnt think the backpack was going to be such a huge problem. i used to have a top box on the bike but the fucker broke off when i drove over a bump on the road.
if you strap the backpack on the bike dont you have the anxiety of it falling down or a part of it getting tangled in the rear wheel or something?

It's nice being able to have the cozy heated cabin, being able to actually carry cargo with me, as well as being able to drink liquids while I'm driving.

But it's just not the same as riding a motorcycle. It doesn't feel as "fun", I don't feel the thrill, and I don't feel as "connected" to the road as I do when I ride. I'm even driving a manual. Does anybody else feel this?

a)friends of girlfriends
b)gfs of bros
c)relatives of bros
d)relatives
i also always go full attack mode when i meet a girl i like and thats got me in many good and many bad situations. the main bad thing is that you come off as an aggressive chad to shy girls you actually care about and they reject you on principle.

Reposting something I read on /mu/ the other day, it really resonated with me:

you too eh

I just keep telling myself that it's the same predictable shit every time. there's literally nothing to do but feel bad until it passes. breakups happen, and happiness happens after the breakup, and it's inevitable. there's no rushing it, there's just a lot of contemplation and brooding and overthinking until suddenly you're okay again.

the best thing you can do is find a friend and vent your heart out. discuss every aspect, discuss what went wrong and how to avoid the things that hurt you with the next person you meet, and what was good about the relationship that made the whole thing worthwhile. relationships are incubators to grow and learn, she affected you in a meaningful way and you have evolved through her, hopefully for the better. she is a brush stroke on the benevolent watercolour that is you. think about her impact, and what you can do to allow that impact to make you a better person.

you will be okay.

They still make old aftermarket minuki carbs for about 150-200 for my bike, luckily.

Also it can cruise at about 50-55 happily, and 60 is manageable, but you gotta wind it way the fuck out to get up to like 75-80 and it wobbles pretty hard at anything past 65. You can manage highways on it, but not for super long. I stick to side/back roads when I can and only hop on the highways when absolutely necessary.

Its the same thing that plagues the new NSX. Honda tries too hard to do everything good instead of a few things exceptionally well.

Not that it really matters. Unless you're racing professionally you'll be fairly hard-pressed to actually lose due to differences between the newer superbikes' performance on track, as a good rider could easily carry a CBR1000RR past a mediocre rider on an Aprilia RSV4.

Plus they're still probably faster than mine, and I do well enough.

In what terms is it a shit bike? Power? Yea it's lacking compared to Turbo Busas and S1000RRs. Handling? Yea it isn't as nice as new R1s, but the fireblade is overall a good bike, it's just everyone wants to have the "biggest, fastest" bike, thus it gets overshadowed by other bikes.

I was doing a pretty gnarly hill climb with rocks at the top and bottom, but when I hit the rocks on top it seized because I guess I didn't rebuild it when I should have (I don't fucking know, it's a 2008 with a lot of hours) and I'm not quite tall enough to flat-foot it. So I fell, and the bike went 100+ feet down hill ass over tea kettle. It was spewing oil, and gas. Handlebar broke off, swing arm broke also. Parts are expensive as fuck.

Yep, bought a fuck load of XML LED thing but never got around to throwing them on, still need to do that.
Actually, I rewound the coil, forgot about that.
Trailtech regulator as well.
Still the stock head light though.

Can anybody recommend a good 2 stroke? I'm ready to make the jump and move from a four stroke to a 2 stroke. Preferably something I can use for enduro. Pic not related, my 12 y/o cousin's 2016 yz85

Did the rewound coil or aftermarket regulator make any difference with the stock light? And are you running the stock bulb an everything? I just bought a 2004 EXC with the stock headlight with an LED bulb. It's pathetic and I can't see shit, so I want to see if I can get street-worthy lighting without going to an aftermarket 12VDC electrical system for gud headlight compatibility.
>>
>>14214630
>I just bought a 2004 EXC with the stock headlight with an LED bulb
lol get rid of that and put a silverstar or similar bulb in there, LEDs don't work for shit in a stock housing.
It didn't make any difference in brightness rewinding the stator, the voltage regulator will always keep the voltage at the same 13v or whatever it is.
The only difference is I can use the head light with the bike off now since it's a full DC system.

No, it's fuel injected. the choke is just a little cheater deal that locks the throttle open a tiny bit. The 2nd cable there adjusts it. Factory spec is just below 2.5K rpm.

Gonna repaint it and get some Marchesini M10Rs for it, then maybe a digital gauge so I can have my gear indicator back, some mirror-blockoff plates with turn signals in them and a rearview camera because fuck the stock mirrors.

That's the main thing I wanted to know when I asked if it was stock lol. I don't know if I need to go DC or not.

But anyway are you saying the stock housing and AC lighting circuit should be plenty for night riding, as long as I have a good bulb in there?

I figured it out. Super easy, just delete www. and replace it with a m. Then simply just right click save as on the mobile version.
>>
>>14214899
>But anyway are you saying the stock housing and AC lighting circuit should be plenty for night riding, as long as I have a good bulb in there?
Yeah, it worked fine for me.
The only reason I rewound is because I wanted LED lighting and extra power for grip warmers and a radiator fan.
>>
>>14214935

>>
>>14215008
>OK. Yours wasn't the factory street legal version was it?
I don't even know, I thought all 525EXCs were street legal?
They came with lighting and shit, the title said enduro which means it can be plated without anything done and no inspection.
(it is plated)

don't put her on the pedestal bro. I know what it feels like to be unable to make somebody like you, my girlfriend of 3 years recently broke up with me because she 'lost interest'. It never gets any easier, you just have to pretend that the rest of your life won't be as shit as you think it will
>>
>>14215036
What year is it? Most EXCs were not street legal from the factory until like 2008 or something. The thing is KTM didn't write off-road-only all over the certificate of origin so lots of them got registered no problem. If it came with AC lighting then it probably wasn't street legal from the factory (some law requires lights to be usable without engine running).

AFAIK all factory street legal bikes will say MC on the title, not enduro.
>>
>>14215098
>(some law requires lights to be usable without engine running).
That depends on the state, my state doesn't require lights to be on when the engine is off.
It's a 2003.

I can tell you with high probability that it wasn't factory street legal.

It may have left the dealership with a plate but none of those EXCs from that time period were meant to be used on American roads.
