I'll start: how about taking a Porsche 924, taking out the Audi 4-banger, and swapping in an Audi i5?

They weigh about 700-800lbs depending on variant/year.
Ever since I saw photos of this fucking thing, I've been wondering about how this thing would ride, and how fast. In case its hard to see, those are two supercharged Sportster engines, each with their own supercharger, mounted as to make the engines part of the structural integrity of the frame. Central hub steering and all that.
The problem: The builder, Arlen Ness, built this in 1987. Never rode it. Only used as a showbike.
My question: Sportsters are pretty cheap if you buy them wrecked but running. The frame can be rigged up for far cheaper then it could back in 1987, we have much better equipment now. They even make supercharger kits for them now so you don't need to go batshit with the fabrication. Rough guess, you could get one of these built for you for about 40,000$-60,000$, which falls into the average price of a high-end motorcycle.
What stops some chrome-dazzled idiot with a big wallet from building one of these and riding it? What would it ride like? Could it even move without pulling itself apart? How could one improve it?

The custom motorcycle scene, especially for power choppers, is basically what Mad Max would look like if George Miller took copious amounts of meth daily.
This is a Sidewinder. Its a 427ci V8 out of a 1971 Can-Am ZL-1 (Camaro) with a 10-71 blower. This thing actually sees dragstrip time, and the builder has made quite a few of them.
