Hello /scg/

I need new injector plugs, Rock-auto has 4 choices and two different styles.

Other forums just recommend buying used plugs because they're dumb,I'd like to buy the one that fits best and dont need to be massaged to fit. Anyone replaced injector plugs before?

I know what you mean, living in Canadia we have a lot more options when it comes to cars, especially through importing. So to me it's not worth paying $7k for a beaten S13 when I could have a perfect S15 with under 100k's for $11k

Do any of you own an s-chassis not for drifting? I was interested in buying one as it checked off a lot of the things i was looking for in my next car: RWD, relatively lightweight, technically not a 2-seater, available in the $3-8k range.. But it seems like people only like them to modify, and to drift. Overall driving experience and agility don't seem to be why people get them. Are they any fun to drive if you're not going sideways? Would i be underwhelmed if i got one without the intention of drifting it? I live in a big city, where's it fun to go fast on winding highways. Sporty handling and quick acceleration are what im after. i'm not around backroads and suburban parking lots where I can go drifting and stuff. Do s-chassis' not make sense for me?
>>
>>14213808
drifting is more of a suspension setup. you dont need to set it up that way
>>
>>14213887

sure, but my question was is a drift setup pretty much the only setup worth having on this car? ie is the car a poor choice for non-drift setups?
>>
>>14213158
do you own all those?

Nice investment
>>
>>14214013
You can set them up pretty well for grip. Drifting can be done with any suspension setup, but most guys run a fair bit of camber up front with as little as possible on the rears. Angle of your rear cradle setup can effect it, same as your sway bars, castor etc. My s13 drives pretty nicely in the touge. Depends what you want it for, not much of a grand tourer though if thats what your thinking. They're just lightweight sports cars that have a decent platform for motorsports.

>>
>>14215054
I've got a bit, I'm not headed back until spring quarter. That's much appreciated. Its an auto which sucks but it's only got 138k miles and has been taken care of, clean title too. Could use some lovin on the front fender since the previous owner was older and backed into it with his truck. Other than that it's got some dings and dents but nothing that can't be easily popped out with a heatgun and a firm push.

>>14215137
Yes that's me. I appreciate you spreading the word! I know the price is a bit high for an auto car but everything around here is so expensive and finding a clean title car that hasn't been beaten to shit is so hard nowadays.
>>
>>14215149
I was just talking with some friends, and they said it was a bit much for an auto, but as a manual they would do it.

I got other friends who will do it too.
>>
>>14215157
Yeah I understand. I've got some wiggle room. I'm not going to keep it when I head over since I really need an awd car, it's just that I have a specific car that I really want to buy from a buddy that he's giving me a good deal on.

Have a week off work coming up, need to get my sideskirts mounted, then taken to get painted and fitted up properly. Still waiting on a new front bar that I ordered before christmas which I want done. Catch can is finished from one of my mates, looks super tidy, just need to get my rocker covers powder coated and run the hose then that'll be finished. Have got about a month and a half before a big car show we have called all japan day. I tend to avoid car shows but this one has some really nice classics from old rotarys to mental gtr's and a dude with a crazy rb26 sil80.

I've got a good friend who built his car for grip/time attack and I can attest that thing freaking rips. One helluva driver too. Always fun talking with him because you'll always learn something. Especially if you're both on the track (taught me the proper lines to drive at Brainerd International Raceway last year at PowerCruise USA #6). Had an SR in it and went 1J shortly after the Sport Street feature. I feel like that might be the way my car is going, no drifting for me.

Pic related is said car.

That'd be pretty fun. Wish we had decent tracks here. They're meant to be making a new track at the moment and our only other track is shit.

You can definately setup an s chassis to do well in grip, mine handles pretty nice, need some new tyre soon as they feel pretty off now. Drifting is fun aswell, have a few mates who are really into it but they're cars are always broken and wrecked from all the abuse they cop.

I have my 240 set up for grip. It's all about how you set up your suspension. A good set of coils helps a lot too and I've found its better to keep the oem rear sway bar if you're going for grip. Also don't forget some good tires.

A bunch of Nissan engines use the same connectors, go to a junkyard and clip a bunch off a harness. I know vh45 are the same and I think vg.

HID in halogen housing are shit. Just buy some H4 housings.

But to anwser your question, I don't have a clue. EL-20 in the FSM will help you sort out your issues. Pic related.

>>14231988
My trick is to jack up the car so the nose is damn high and bleed it like that. Once jacked up add coolant and start the car. Keep an eye on the temp gauge, once it's warm check fluid. Continue adding fluid until you have some just sitting in the funnel just like in that guys video. While doing this massage the upper radiator hose, pretty much push it down followed by pulling up on the hose. Air tends to get trapped in that section and that will help remove the air. Finally once the coolant is getting warm you should see the fluid level rise in the funnel. Turn the car off and throw the radiator cap back on. Make sure there is coolant in the overflow tank as it will suck fluid back in.

I've been able to bleed my KA in one shot doing it that way every time. My manifold bleed screw is frozen so I don't bother with it.

Well I test drove it and its idling rough but no temp spikes. Might just need fresh gas idk. I'll try your method. So take off the bleeder screw while the car is on right? And basically do the same thing? Pour until stream comes out and massage the hoses?
>>
>>14232626
Just looked at it today they're not even HIDs. It turned out just to be a loose connection. Haha
>>
>>14232838
With my method you don't need to touch the bleeder screw. By jacking up the front you make the radiator the highest point in the system.

>>14233427
Why did you think you had HIDs? Nice to hear you fixed your issue though.

when i attempted to run an eletric drag waterpump on my ka, it took like like 3 times to finally bleed the air out

LOL
>>
>>14234901
It's actually a harder than normal system to bleed due to the position of the bleeder screw and radiator. It forms weird air pockets that usually take a couple of tries.

The n/a autech things are pretty quick for an 2.0l, not as good as turbz obviously but still kinda cool. Can you actually import cars for track use only even if they're banned? We can here and it ends up being about $3-5k cheaper than getting an import registered.

Haha better off getting shims m8. They last longer and work better. I have a kaaz 2way which is really good/10.

I used to park my car on a driveway, plus jack the front passenger corner of the car up to move all the air bubbles to the water neck.

I've had great success having the bleeder screw out, then filling the radiator, then starting the engine to let it heat up. First you'll see steam coming out the port, then bubbles, then solid coolant (usually in a matter of seconds of each other, so be ready). When its solid coolant for a second or two, get the screw back in place. Wear gloves, shits hot.
>>
>>14243600

Also, go for a short neighborhood drive then park and let it cool down. Sometimes the system will 'burp' into the overflow then be golden after it cools.

The KA24DE really is a pain to bleed, but its good for years after you get it right.
