Looking to pick up a fairly cheap daily. Spotted a 1999 Camry with a 5 speed, 4 cylinder, no rust. Mileage is pretty high at 245k. Should I just pass on this thing?
Ad indicates that the owner has kept up on maintenance, replaced timing belt, water pump, replaced both front brake calipers, routine oil changes, etc.
So does anyone know about the 2.2 liter in these things? Should I be looking into anything else on this thing?
Also before anyone says, I usually wrench on European cars. Owned a slew of VWs so I know all about shit breaking on cars.

Worth 1200 american at most. Good car though if it has legit service records. Replace the headgasket, solved the oil loss in mine pretty simply. Its off an on with opinions but apparently synthetic helps avoid sludge ossued the engine may have, if not for that id just stick with what the manual days.
It could last another 50k or a 150, you never know.
Best gen Camry/ES, but you can get the same year Es350 for about the same and that is a Lexus and has a v6. Lowball him on the price, imo thats a 900-1000 car, but taken care of its pretty unkillable.
