How do I repair this level of dashboard damage? It has a chunk of the dash taken off. This is a Mercedes E Class by the way.

LOL man what shit build quality hahaha
>>
Where exactly is this damage?

There is no easy way to make this look ok again, best bet is pulling the dashboard from a wrecked ond
>>
>>14171428
Is that a chink air freshener? Looks like the chemicals leaked out and dissolved the plastic
>>
>>14171451
It's on top of the dash in the middle.
>>14171467
It was ripped off with glue.

Is that glue bleeding all around and that melted the foam? Is this your picture?
>>
>>14171523
Yes this is my picture but I don't know if it's glue. I tried spraying some glue remover on but it didn't work and some of the dash had already been ripped off so it makes no difference really. It's not my doing btw it's a family member's. He glued something onto the dashboard and it stuck completely.

Do you have any advice?

I'd rather get it back to normal but if I can't get it back to normal I'd at least like to cover it up with a phone mount. How would I go about doing this since the foam
>>
>>14171691
Posted prematurely... since the foam is exposed and I need to cover it with a surface that the mount can go onto.

Don't worry, you can get other designs.

How much is it to replace a whole dashboard then? I wouldn't do it with a design like that though.
>>
>>14171845
It depends what you get. I see them from $25 up to around $65. You'd probably have to fill in the hole anyway. Maybe a dab of some expanding foam used for insulation, then trim it flush?
>>
>>14171878
I don't know what trimming it flush means.

As for the expanding foam part. If I do decide to replace the whole dash in the future, would filling it with foam affect this?
>>
just fill it with black filler, and find something you can replicate the texture with.

otherwise you can only replace the entire dash. a HUGE PITA. litterally takes an entire days of work for many cars. like 10 hours of work.
>>
They make vinyl dash repair kits with putty and stuff. Fill even then paint. Or slap a sticker over it and call it a day. /osg/ repairs a dash.

Pic related.

It's just a tiny bit so there won't be a divot in the dash mat. It might not even make a difference, but if you replace the whole thing then you're going to be throwing out the current dash, including the foam and the plastic surface.
>>

>divot
You know who has divots? My girlfriend on her lower back. They're called rump divots
>>
>>14171974
Are you talking about replacing it yourself?

Thanks man I'll look into this

Sticker sounds like a good idea. I might do that and put the phone mount somewhere else.

Awesome pic thanks and thanks for the explanation about the foam.
