The S-Class Coupe interior is the best mass-produced interior I think anyone has ever produced.
The minimalization of plastic is astounding. Literally every touchable surface inside is either leather, woodgrain (or lacquer) or brushed aluminum.
You can just tell its gonna look great ten years from now, and 20 years from now, and 30 years from now when its some 20yo kid's stanced shitbox with millions of dollars in repairs waiting in the wind.
W221 has a better looking interior than the W222

Look, I know it's not fashionable looking and I also think the new interior are looking alright and feel better to the touch, but:
- all marking are easy to read; note how you can easily read the markings on the blinker switch in >>14170685 while the wheel obstructs your view in newer models
- all switches can easily be indentified because they have been in the same position since the late 1960s and the markings on them are big enough and have clear contrast so you can comfortably read them without leaving driving position
- no shiny bits in the interior, sun won't be reflected
- gearshift can be operated without turning your eyes from the road or taking your right arm away from the armrest or fiddling awkwardly behind the wheel trying to not accidentally turn onthe wipers
- last but not least interior looks like it was designed by an engineer not like it was designed by pic related
