what do I do /o/? I want to drive ten cylinders of snek, and I have the money. Will I wrap myself around a tree because of the shit handling and too much power or will it only run for 10 miles before the engine catches fire?
Ive got about 30k disposable income a year, and ive got enough in checking to buy this outright. Im thinking that this could make a good toy for weekends and might be fun to take to a track.
>dodge V10
>unreliable
>1st gen viper
>bad handling
what the fuck.

>Will i wrap myself around a tree
If you have to ask this the answer is yes.
>>14163175
>>14163181
Its a meme guys, people say that vipers can't turn when in reality I am well aware that they are street-legal racecars with little maintenance costs compared to other exotics. Im seriously considering getting this one and probably going to buy it if it looks good when I go test drive it.
>>14163187
just make sure you have sticky as fuck tyres because fuck letting the rear end loose on one of those mang front heavy light ass short wheel base with huge torque is going to slice your head clean off
>>14163192
in such a front-heavy car, why would the back end want to snap around?
>>14163200
>high hp
>low down tourqe
>short wheel base
Did you hear nothing of what u just said?
It has snap oversteer worse because of the reasons just stated bro its not hard to work out
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_cowwf8p6E
Probs shit rear suspention setup from factory looks way too stiff or something no weight transfer under heavy acceleration
>>14163218
I know why mid-engine cars have the issue, didn't immediately see why a front-heavy car would have the same problem.
>>14163224
read down the comments one bloke said " But it was a flawed design by way of suspension dynamics and weight distribution. If you've never spun a car, then take a Viper for a drive. They loved to shoot that ass end out to where the hood was. Over and over again."
Also
"Dodge used to brag that the viper had the widest rear tires of any production sports car. As somebody who races, thats a huge red flag to me. Fat tires make up for other flaws in the suspension. Too fat of a tire is actually detrimental to handling."
which i can personally agree with, staggered rears or overwide tyres in general only make a car railroad (understeer when on the gas in corners or straights) even worse
personally its easy to get snap oversteer once you get a pendulum effect going in windy roads or losing control on straight aways
>>14163228
sw20 owners typically use wider rear tires (e.g. 245 rear vs 215 front)
>>14163168
That's a god awful color.
Don't buy it unless you can afford to have it repainted red and itasha it up.
is everyone missing the whole salvage title
should avoid it for that sole purpose
>>14163168
>ten cylinders of snek
can someone explain the interwebs snek thingy?
>>14163259
idiot
>says supercharged
>no pics of engine bay
I'd skip this one, OP. The right snek will come to you eventually, but not today.
>>14163272
yeah find another one
>>14163290
>supercharged
avoid for this reason too
But do get a snek, remember, no matter what anyone says the first gen was better than a diablo
Also make sure you come to terms with what you have done so far because open top snek gonna have you for lunch
>>14163281
First it was cheeky snake and then some anon called it snek, it kinda stuck around because its a likeable car
>>14163496
Thank you for explaining.
>>14163168
Car with a converted truck engine who complains too much about letting off the gas on corners.
They say it's the most expensive coffin you can by for a reason.
>>14163514
But imagine how big your cock would be after only a couple of hours in that thing
>>14163187
Vipers handle just fine, it's just they punish novice drivers.
>>14163525
From all of the gas drilling your dick after they slide you into the morgue? Sure.

If the biggest anti american memester can admit its great, then it must be fucking great
>>14163543
Its not that bad m8, you can either become a good driver or drive slow
>>14163557
I know, mate. Just a little insecure myself.
>>14163168
>salvage title
>supercharged
>colour
Yeah get a viper, but not this one. It's a money pit.
>>14163290
>>14163496
>>14163813
the color is fine for me (I can afford to get it repainted if I don't like it, id probably go blue with white racing stripes)
what you guys said about the supercharger is the only possible dealbreaker. Im trying to find someone who knows vipers well to come with me and look at this thing. The salvage title i can live with (actually a pro, as it makes the whole thing cheaper and I don't care about resale value), but a shitty "done right" supercharger i would not have an idea if it is complete shit. Maybe I will go test drive it, take pics and report back in another thread so you guys can tell me what you think.
one thing is for sure though, I will own a snek
I think the colors fucking great.very period correct. Maybe paint the wheels purple.
>>14163168
>Be me
>Get license
>Dad teaches me to drive manual in snek
>Starts letting me drive it after a year
>Drive snek on regular basis
>Most fun I've ever had
>Get laid all the time because snek
>Only spin once
Just remember that snek can bite and kill you any time it wants. Don't buy cheap tires.
>>14163168
>truck motor truck transmission truck axle truck electronics car
>unreliable
>>14163168
Just remember
>no abs
If you aren't used to that it'll fuck you in the ass
>>14163218
>all them damaged bonnets
my wallet crying

Should... Should I do it..?
>>14164894
do it
>>14164894
Do it.
The Snek will soon be discontinued. Soon, all the Sneks in the world be owned by old rich white people who hide them in a bubble, never to be unleashed, unless someone is willing to buy it for millions because "they know what they have."
Don't let this happen. Buy Snek, drive Snek. The legend of King Arthur would have been a boring tale if Excalibur was just hung on the wall.
>>14163168
>Washington Rebuilt Title
>Obvious odometer rollback
Dude...
>>14167040
i just hope I am not too late, I need two years to save before I can comfortably afford one
>>14167106
26k is not a bad place to start negotiations for a salvage snek
Don't do a first generation. The second generation was vastly improved.
SNEK IS THE BRETT FARVE OF THE CAR WORLD.
SNEK WILL RETURN!!!
>>14167134
4k more and you can get a clean titled one with a better color

>>14163168
>mint green rt
i would pass and keep saving up
you could get an V10 R8 if your patient
>>14167227
>watered-down Lambo built by Audi
>on the same level as the snek
>>14164724
>implying he was being anything less than completely literal

>>14164894
Then it's settled.
Tomorrow sneaky snek will be mine.
>gorillion hp
>no abs
RIP op
>>14163224
no weight on the rear tires + lopsided moment of inertia means the front stays fairly planted while the rear more easily rotates
t. engineer
>>14167280
if you're driving a snek to 100k miles, you're driving it wrong or you're one insanely skilled individual
At least get a second gen hard top.
First gens look like total ass.

this
+ more well built

2nd gen looks way better

get a GTS
Get a coupe.
Also you sound like a redditor so I doubt it will ever be pushed to the point of being anywhere near killing you.
