/o/, I really like the look of bride GIAS seats but $1800 for a single seat is insane.
My current seats don't even have head or neck support so I figure even a fake bride
seat will offer a little more support in the event of a crash than my stock seats
Is there any reason I should go ahead and pay full price for "safety" if these are just
going in my DD or can I go ahead and buy a pair of Taiwanese copies?
Or if I crash will I be enveloped in some fiberglass hellstorm, people talk all the time about
knockoffs leading to gruesome crashes but I've found no images or video of such a crash
Why don't you just find the highest trim of your car and use those seats? A lot of the time they're recaros and fixed back seats just aren't that comfortable

Don't buy cheap knock off seats, they are probably more dangerous than your stock seats.
If you want a safer seat look into a fixed back OMP or similar that is FIA certified and won't crush your spine or fold flat in an accident. A real safe seat will support your spine in an accident.

Have a few but Z has been down for over a year now. I really only post in Z related threads.
I was running: Tru boost EBC at 14 psi, JWT pop filter, 3"-2.5" exhaust, JWT heavy duty clutch with lightweight flywheel and 4.10 gears. Dynod 310whp @ 10.5psi but never re dynod it at 14.
Eventually plan on painting it and building a high compression E85 car.
