Why don't cars have long shifter handles anymore?
It seems like any modern manual transmission has a stubby handle.
It's objectively faster, and manufacturers care a lot about numbers these days.

because muh short throw
better yet. most cars are FWD today,
We do we keep having a fat middle consoles?
>>14155881
Where else do you keep your snacks if there is no center console?
>>14155881
>fwd car
>no column shifter
>trans hump (for no trans) in the middle of the car
>massive center console
>bucket seats
I thought the appeal of fwd is the cabin space and cruising
My guess is safety regs are forcing them to do this
>>14155886
I worded that wrong it seems.
i mean under the dashboard part
>>14155886
On your lap, or a flip back on your bench seat.

>fatmericans
>>14156688
>missing the joke
>taking thr post seriously instead
Just buy an old car, they're better anyways

Gearboxes don't require as much force and leverage any more. I can shift using one or two fingers without much issue.
Also, side impact protection means big tall centre consoles, so sticks are mounted higher.
weeb here,
you can have a long shift knob if you request :)
pic related, its my knob ;)
>>14157085
what about this is weeb?
>>14159513
Every single thing.
>>14157030
Good answer.
>>14155838
faster to shift?
cuz that's not how leverage works
>>14159694
It's not about leverage, idiot, it's about speed. Hence "faster".
>>14155833
shorter handle is cheaper
>>14155833

>inb4 everyone hates my interior
>>14161286

>>14161297

>>14163767

>>14155912

>>14155833

>>14155907
