would you?
>>14153081
>no more city traffic
>no taxi driver with insane accent
>far fewer accidents
>more cars in the same space on the road
Yes pls
>>14153086
you forgot
>insurance is basically nonexistant
Looks like a car for furfags
>set off emp
>no stearingwheel or breaks to bring self to controlled stop
>ded
THE FUTURES LOOKIN BRIGHT
As of right now I have no need for it, but if I started commuting again... sure. I could use the extra sleep.
You will loose more freedom. I dont drive manual because its faster, i like to control my destiny.
>>14153101
too be fair, most modern cars would be absolutely fucked as well what with EPS, ABS, electrically assisted brakes, steering column locks and other shit.
>>14153225
now if that ain't the gayest shit i've read all day
>>14153081
I'd gladly see everyone who didn't want to drive themselves not having to.
Personally, though, no. Fuck no. Never. Not in a million years. I enjoy driving far too much.
>>14153237
this, your car would probably be the least of your troubles if an EMP went off
>>14153225
>not wanting a robot butler to drive you around
>>14153264
not my car m8 :)
I can't decide if I should be excited about or terrified of these things.
On the one hand I enjoy cars and driving. I don't like the idea that that will become a thing of the past.
On the other hand I imagine that this will increase the availability and affordability of Motorsport. Similar to how people have horses now even though they don't have to ride a horse to work anymore.
>>14153277
I'm not sure cars have made horse ownership more affordable - take it from a longtime, equestrian, it is in no way a cheap hobby. It's definitely less available: back then, a lot more people could justify owning horses because horses actually provided some utility.
Either all cars drive themselves or non will. There is no in between. Cars have to communicate with each other.
The ruling class will program car destinations. They will get there first, important doctor for brain surgery next, then mcdonalds worker.
If their microchipped tagged child is playing outside and a car is driving fast, then have car smash against wall and kill peasant.
>>14153237
Get in your car, bring it to about 40 or something, go to neutral and turn it off.
Yeah its harder, but you have a mechenical linkage to your steering and breaks.
Even if your steering locks for some reason, you at least have breaks
i would give it to every person who wanted it, for these reasons
>>14153086
cartarded people won't be able to damage my car anymore, sounds like a big win
also i'd put the tech on my person car, and let it drive my around when i'm tired or its in horrible traffic, or park the car for me and pick me up after. like having a chauffeur living in the car 24/7
>>14153081
would run off road
>>14153088
>insurance skyrockets for regular cars since less drivers to cover the cost
>>14153081
when google chome can go, say a month without crashing...
we'll see
>>14153081
No.
>>14153081
I would if they looked more like this
>>14153395
This is a good way to kill yourself.
>>14154561
? are you retarded?
>>14154561
not the point though
>>14153101
Any car with electronic fuel injection or a non-point type distributor wouldn't even start.
>>14153081
I'd make a go kart out of the body before I let it take me somewhere.
>>14154473
What is that actually? Is the pic tilted?
>>14153081
How do you drive that through the outback?
>>14153081
>Would you get in a plane without a pilot?
If no then
>why would you trust a car without a driver?
/thread
>>14155537
considering a plane is without a pilot for most of its flight...
>>14155537
autopilot can handle take off and landing as well as heading and altitude
what do pilots even do these days
>>14155534
Hook it up to a droproo mate
>>14153081
Why does it look so faggy?
>>14153410
>Insuring your car when its effectively impossible for the other cars to hit it.
At that point it's your own fault if you wreck your car and you should pay for it.
The only reason to have insurance would be if you live in an area prone to natural disasters or trees falling on shit.
>>14155740
because they test them in California where driverless vehicles can only move 25mph as the legal speed limit, so the cars can be small as fuck, they test other vehicles like SUVs and luxury sedans with the same driverless tech
>>14153225
you wont find that sentiment here anymore senpai
just be a good goy and do what everyone else is doing. Don't ask questions
>>14155537
>what is autopilot
>what is cruise control
>what is a computer
ITS THE CURRENT YEAR
>>14156840
brave desu senpai :)
b for bendetta rage agains the masheen
>>14153328
Except all driverless cars in use on roads will by nature be developed on roads shared by driven cars, just like google's cars are now. This false dichotomy makes no sense.
"Enthusiasts" who think driving is in danger because of the potential for self driving cars to replace the 99.99% of shitboxes on the roads are drooling retards.
