>pretending to be "above" Ferrari and citing some irrelevant to you business practices
Could you be any more Jalopnik/Reddit? It's OK to admit you still fantasize about them, we're all friends here, no judgement zone.

But they're not irrelevant to me.

The only cars of theirs that I don't think are shit and look like a horses ballsack are their race cars. Why would I fantasize about a car that I think is ugly and unimpressive?

There are enough supposedly-excellent cars in the price bracket that Ferrari could easily be disregarded. There are plenty of cars I can fantasize about that aren't Ferraris.

They still have made some truly gorgeous cars over the years, though. Can't take that away from them.

No, I don't fantasize about them. Because getting parts and labour for them is insane. I want a sports car that's lightweight, small, has a big aftermarket support, a diy mechanic community, and is cheap.
So I love Japanese cars. And there's nothing wrong with wanting them.

There's nothing wrong with wanting exotics, but you have to know what you're getting into. You have to know how to make them obtainable. If you want an exotic, you'll need that support network of car clubs, other enthusiasts, any dealership networks, and so much more. Or you have to have a lot of money to piss away.

wahts so special about ferrari again? shit performance for what they cost, unreliable and stupidly expensive to maintain, and most professional drivers who arent being payed by ferrari think they drive like garbage

Ferraris from the 80's on down are still cool with me. I've seen fuckloads of 2000's Ferraris to where I don't even blink an eye at one any more.

I associate modern Ferraris with European DJs who somehow make ridiculous amounts of money off of adding dance beats to other people's songs, basketball players, retarded famewhores like the Kartrashians and Paris Hilton, high-priced Beverly Hills whores, and greasy Jersey trash

And those gearboxes where all you gotta do is set the car to "retard" settings so that 600-HP supercar behaves like any average car and is perfectly manageable for anyone with no real driving experience doesn't help me believe these cars are specifically made for the trashy rich

Plus they're over-produced to where they were producing as many as 10,000 cars per year to where they felt they had to "cap" production to 7,000 cars to try to maintain value. And ones like the Italia, California, and 360/F430 are horribly over-produced to where every high-end dealer has way too many of the fuckers for sale waiting for that one idiot with more money than brains for cars so over-produced that their real values are below six figures yet dealers know if they hold long enough then some nouoveau-riche tards will eventually come along.

They just don't impress me.

Plus thanks to Ferrari hardly racing outside of F1 any more they're losing their racing pedigree Ferrari was built on. Being the descendant of a champion racehorse is not the same thing as being the champion racehorse, and this modern shit's built to be collected, not built to actually race. I know a few individuals have raced them, but they routinely get smoked by Porsches and Mclarens that never lost the love of racing production cars because the mojo's just not there any more.

The best 308's are the Euro-spec ones with the huge front airdams. So sexy. US ones would be worth a lot more if they had that.

It's in my top-5 all-time favorite Ferraris.

>>14158138
Fiat has no love to continue the flat-12 5-liter boxers Enzo himself loved so much. That sucks. Even Enzo himself said every Ferrari yearns to have a 12-cylinder engine in it.

>>14158287

>>

>>
>>14153016
I'm too cheap for a supercar.
They are such poor value for money.
Same reason I dont own any apple products.

There are other cars that are just as good or better, but cost less.
>>
>>14158319
The best 308s are the fiberglass ones. The 550 and 575 are in no way comparable to a Corvette, very odd comparison.

>>14158340
Will those other cars hold their value though? Compare a mid trim C7 and a used 360, both can be had for around 80k, the Corvette is obviously way faster, but in 10 years the 360 will likely be worth the same or more, and the C7 will be 15k. For someone just buying a weekend fun car, which is what most people would be looking for if they were considering either car, a Ferrari can definitely be a better value.
>>
>>14158340

But unlike Apple shit most supercars will eventually appreciate, making them investment-grade cars.

Just look at the huge leap in 80's Ferraris. 5 years ago you could have gotten a 308 for as little as $25k and a Testarossa for as little as $50k; now those same cars are going for $150k+ and $250k+ each and rising daily.

Just don't invest in modern ones. Their values are pure bubble, and dependend on the nouoveau riche who want everything new. Once they stop being new and stop being even "yesterday's model" and fall in between "not a classic" and "not new," expect hard depreciation from their high production numbers to show themselves. They haven't earned it in the real-world markets yet.

BUT if you wanna gamble then I'd recommend the early 2000's Gallardos, Murcielagos, and 360 Modenas that still had manual gearboxes and analog/mechanical systems because they were produced in much much lower quantities than the computer-everything automatic ones were and have genuine collector's potential down the road
>>
>>14158364
But the rarest 308's are the 208's.

In Italy cars were taxed according to their engine size, so to lower the taxes they produced a 2-liter version as opposed to the 3-liter version and badged it the 208 for the Italian market.

And they didn't sell a lot, making them rare as hell today.
>>
>>14158432
But who wants a 2.0L Ferrari
>>
>>14158570
Look at how much Dinos 246's are worth. They're not even officially Ferraris and are not even titled as Ferraris and have 2.4 V-6 liter engines, yet they're worth good money

And the 208 is rare. If he shitty Dinos can be worth money then the 208's are worth money too.

Nobody buys a Ferrari because it's the best.
They buy a Ferrari because they want it and can afford it.

only about 3 million dollars
people get caught up in the more prestigious models and forget about the six cylinder and four cylinder types

they were part of a strategy that if your more complex cars break down hounding your opponents to destruction
you can still win the event with the more simple ones
