Will putting a coat of a mixture of bearing grease and used motor oil prevent rust from spreading?

how often should i reapply this?
>>

I'm sorry senpai.
Thats a cut out a weld repair job.
>>
It can prevent it starting. Possibly slow down spreading. Use POR-50 to stop minor rust spreading. Wire brush major rust until its minor.

its not my pic, on my car its just surface rust
>>

Next time don't buy a mazda ;)
>>
Wash your car more often, people swear by putting zinc bars on the car, theres also a spray some detailing companies apply that prevent rust for a few years. You could just sand it and paint or for rock chips you can get all sorts of products.
>>
Go buy the new all aluminum body f150 my family member. It will last you forever
>>
Just buy some fluid film, or make your own mix with bar oil and kerosene.

Apply once a year in late summer/early fall
>>
Use a brass bristle wire brush to remove any visible rust.
Then neutralize any remaining rust with vinegar.
Let the vinegar sit over night, then wash off using dish soap.

Next dry the area, and wipe it down with linseed oil. After it dries, apply another coat of linseed oil using a brush.

Re-apply the linseed oil once a day for a week, then once a month.
>>
Sand it to bare metal and coat it with POR-15.
>>
I CANT sand it down because its above the windshield and it goes behind the rubber and taking out the window is something i rather not do

Typical once i detripped i gained random wrench powers
>>
>>14150163
Well sand what you can and paint what you can. At least you can protect some of it. And having the area above the windshield somewhat sealed is probably the best you can hope to do without a serious time investment.

No but rust converter will work and it's cheap enough.

I just soak all the critical spots on my rust bucket with brush before winter.

>Rust converters are chemical solutions or primers that can be applied directly to an iron or iron alloy surface to convert iron oxides (rust) into a protective chemical barrier. These compounds interact with iron oxides, especially iron(III) oxide, converting them into an adherent black layer that is more resistant to moisture and protects the surface from further corrosion. They are sometimes referred to as "rust remover" or "rust killer".

Putting tape over rust makes it ten time worse you fucking idiot. It catches all the moisture under it.
>>
>>14150743
I took it off a few days ago and thats when i saw THE PAINT literally stuck to the tape and extreme rust
>>
>>14150718

Either remove windshield and rust, or enjoy your leaks.

I drive 12k miles a month in my aluminum body road tractor. Don't gotta worry about it rusting.

I'm impressed that ford decided to step up and make a product that can go longer than 10 years before ending up on craigslist for 3500$

Here is a 40 year old aluminum kenworth still at it.
