I just had my car up on a lift with a professional mechanic and he came back as baffled as me.

At 70mph my car is smooth unless I'm turning right, when I'll get vibration from the driver side front.

No bad bushings, struts are okay, ball joints are good, wheel bearing is perfect, no play in the cv joint.

There's a bad sub-frame bushing but that's it, and it's on the other side.

There is no vibration at lower speeds--none that I can tell. Going to get a wheel balance done anyway tomorrow.

So, gearheads, the heck?

buy a new car.

ditto

Is your wheels balanced?

Rack ends need replacing

Egged alloys.

Could be a bad rack or whatever is wearing out isnt worn enough to notice. Also could be something wrong with a tire or lugs or something. Old tires can cause alot of vibration as the ribber hardens and cracks.

Is the fender liner firmly attached to the body? If not it could be deflecting at high speed and rubbing on the wheel when it's turned. Might not be as obvious as pic related if it's only hitting the edge of the plastic.

>ball joints are good
>wheel bearings are perfect
literally no way to tell this

Check to see if there is a deformity in one of your tires. They can do strange things such as causing vibrations only at certain speeds and such. I had a slight bulge in the sidewall of one of my tires which caused the entire car to vibrate slightly at 65, but not at 60 nor 70.

Literally you're a fucking idiot, yes there is.
>>
>>14146342
nope. they can still be bad even if they dont make noise.
>>
>>14146346
I'm sorry you never had anyone teach you how to check for bad ball joints.

Also, if a wheel bearing is bad and isn't making noise, how do you properly check it's condition? Please explain
>>
loose lugnuts?
unbalanced tire
bad tie rods

how bad is the subframe bushing? is it torn? loose? metal touching?
>>
>>14146346
If there's no play in them and they don't make noise, they're fine. Case closed.

Check for bad or ungreased u-joints.
>>
So what's the prognosis, OP?
>>
Tires might be rubbing?
>>
>>14146346
well then rattle them around and check for play retard
>>
You're fucking welcome, OP.
