I don't mean to go all fast meme, but here in melbourne there are private races for cash (not pinks) and there's massive money to be made.
So the best drivers who take their cars to the limit walk away rich as fuck and very well may drive a ferrari (though they usually just buy more aftermarket or something crazier like a konegsegg).

these are private invite only events with cameras forbidden (you get the crap bashed out of you if you're filming) and there's a minimum buyin for both cash and power on your car.

the wangan is super straight so they had top speed attacks there, then there was mtn drifts.
i hear a few mtns got these barriers so you can't drift, which made them go off road drifting.

Australia has something very similar except it's way less known about.
