Has anyone replace airbags in their car before?

I can get both used airbags and a sensor for 100$
Its one of those deals where the car isnt worth that much on the market, but you know the car was meticulously cared for so it would cost a decent amount of money for another car of the same caliber.
Ill probably drive it without airbags if it comes down to it.

Its a 1995 corolla, their labor alone would cost double what the car is actually worth.

I would drive without airbags if its just an around town shitboxes then. Just think that until the 90s, noone used airbags.
Does your state inspect for air bags? Mine doesn't. Many others will either allow you to have malfunctioning air bags or at least a completely disable or removed system. Early air bags are more dangerous than they are safe so no loss if it's an early 90s junk box. Just be sure if you have the seat belts sewn to tear a bit that you cut the extra sewing out.

Yes. You disconnect the battery and replace the airbags. It's generally not that difficult.

recent cars also needs module and seatbelt mechanism replaced, i dont know about 90s cars.
