How feasible would it be to get a relaible 350whp out of a 13B

How feasible would it be to get a relaible 350whp out of a 13B turbo with bolt ons, injectors, etc.
(plus additional cooling to keep from blowing up due to thermal load on the engine)

I love the styling and feel of the FC3S Turbo II but it's too slow stock.

I know /o/ hates rotards, but I'm trying to figure out if I want to jump into the rotary world. The 13B-T seems pretty simple.

Focus on getting the car cosmetically perfect before extracting more power out of the engine.

Get all the drivetrain in top shape as well. Them get more power.

Get the paint perfect. Get the weather stripping perfect. Get the bumpers perfect. Get the wheels looking perfect. Get good looking tires.

Get the interior looking perfect. Swap the dash if you have too. Swap the carpet. Swap the seats. Do anything you can to get I perfect.

Then you may upgrade the engine power.

I'm an FD owner, so I will give you actual advice.

350whp out of a 13b is pretty easy on a reasonably sized turbo with <15 psi. Go to rx7club and check out the FC build threads to get a feel for the supporting modifications that you will need and what your options are.

The FC's ports are smaller and more restrictive ... with the right turbo it should be doable - but you'd need at least a gt32 size.

I am not sure how much the stock fuel pump can handle - but you'll need 550 to 700 g/s of air flowing. Also i am pretty sure the stock ecu will not let you double the power.

Also keeping the compressor constant and boost contant, the larger your turbine wheel and/or your turbine AR, the less backpressure you have and the lower the wear on your engine.... but the more lag you have. Consider this for reliability.

It's a reasonable build. You will need a new turbo, injectors, intercooler, some say radiator, fuel pump and something to tune it with. I believe there are some pretty good chips that give a pretty good tune if you don't want a standalone or MS. RTek is good, and I think makes one for 350whp. If everything internally is sound, it should hold up pretty well. I would rebuild it first anyways if you are up for it, it's much cheaper to rebuild before it blows up.

Pretty damn simple. The fuel system is already in place for 400+ horsepower (they have two 850cc injectors per cylinder) and the 13B-T is plenty strong for that power level. All it will take is a standalone ECU and a larger turbo (Borg Warner S200SX 7670 would be perfect). Then all it takes is an eBay manifold and some elbow grease.

But otherwise I agree, keeping it simple is better on FDs, too many people get caught up in body kits/wings/etc.

The FD has the 850CC injectors, and I think only the secondaries. FC is only 550. Ebay manifold is pointless because the stock one is fine.

Oops, you're right. Still maybe enough for 350 HP at the crank, but it'll be close. The eBay manifold is necessary because the stock manifold has a nonstandard turbo flange.
