Alright guys, I have narrowed down my car search to these two, assume they cost roughly the same. Which one would you choose and why?
The Mustang is an Ecoboost Premium and the Subaru is a WRX Premium

>I have narrowed down my car search to these two

you arent getting either
you probably arent even old enough to post here
the cars are hardly comparable anyway
shitpost on /b/ instead pls
>>
I'd prefer the WRX. If I was getting a mustang, it would be V8 or nothing. The non-V8s depreciate like milk, and I mean, it's a muscle car, the point is to have a big loud rumbling V8 and go fast in a straight line. I think an I4 mustang just misses the point of the car.

Whereas with the WRX you have a nice 4 door Sedan that you can actually fit people in the back with, go down dirt roads with, do well in the snow, and it will hold its value better. Plus the point of the WRX has always been a 4 cylinder rally car, and even though the modern WRX aint no GC8 WRC car, its design philosophy still jives with me.

Both cars are about equally as fast so neither is more fun than the other.
>>
get a baseline 5.0. easier to modify. And you will get more out of it. and mpg is about the same.
>>
A Base GT or a Fiesta ST. The WRX isn't very fun unless you're booking it and the Mustang feels like what's still a very large car. The Ecoboost isn't terrible though.
>>
The ecoboost would be great in a smaller, lighter package, like a foxbody. The current Mustang seems too big for a 4 banger.

Anyway, I'd get the WRX if you can't get a V8.
>>
OP here

A 5.0 is something I can definitely do, problem is all the dealers around me only order these loaded to the gills 40k GTs, and if I walk in there asking to take one of the order slots with a 32k Barebones GT as someone who hasnt purchased from them is tough. I suppose I could wait until a '15 GT in Guard pops up. I was just enticed by the WRXs great depreciation and AWD as I live in the snow belt.
>>
>>14135422
Might get a 2015 5.0 mustang cheaper as the new year is coming.
>>
>>14135422
>Guard green
Good man

5.0 or WRX, you can't go wrong. The WRX will obviously be more practical since it's a sedan with AWD and you live where it snows. But practicality is only one of many factors. You'll have to test drive both cars and decide for yourself.

Wait for Dart SRT4
>>
>>14135321

Here are a couple questions to ask yourself when considering the Mustang:

1. Do you care about having functional back seats? They are practically useless. My wife is 5'2 and is barely able to fit. Leg room isn't an issue, but headroom is horrid. I'm 5'10 and have to cock my head sideways to fit.

2. Do you get much snow where you are? Obvious reasons. I assume the Ecoboost isn't as bad as the GT in the snow, but still.

3. Will you care if jerkoffs try to rub it in your face that you don't have a "real" Mustang? It's going to happen and some people get salty about other people's opinions.

4. Are you ok with having to get premium gas? The Ecoboost requires it if you want to get the full power out of the engine. I don't know about the WRX but if it requires premium then this is a moot point.
>>
>>14135455

Guard is nice as fuck in person. I was considering getting it pussied out because I was afraid it was going to look like shit and got Magnetic instead. Oh well.
>>
>>14135458
Not happening for 2 years at least.

>>14135422
Ask your dealer to ship a base model from a different area. It's included as part of the delivery fee, you could tell your dealer to ship you one across the country if another Ford dealer has it in stock to your dealer and not only would they have to comply, they'd do it for no additional charge.
>>
>>14135543

They might try to tack on a "dealer transfer fee" if you go this route justifying it by "loan processing/transfer, plate transfer, vehicle registration, etc) but you should be

I wanted the base 5.0 in guard as well, the only one near by was the premium. Was a little more than I wanted but with 0 percent interest I regret nothing.
>>
>>14135422
Oh yeah can't speak for snow but in heavy rain and standing water the gt has completely behaved itself, which I couldn't say about my 07.
>>
>>14135364
Easier how? Have you ever installed a pair of LT headers? LT + X pipe is around $1500 and if you're not doing the work it'll jump up to 2k-2.1k, not including the tuner + tune you need to buy to not throw codes and bbk and hookers lost tq if left untuned.

MAP offers a 1.5 package at 2k and it brings the 2.3 to 330whp and 420tq. Intercooler, tbe, intake, tuner+tune. You should look on mustang6g not here about the 2.3 and gt

Have them locate a baseline gt. They can do it. And will do it if you are going to buy. pic related my 5.0 that the dealership drove 400 miles to get.

i have a premium ecoboost mustang (in guard no less, so i guess exactly what you're looking for)

love the car, the interior is about 8x better than you could expect from the WRX. i'm planning to mod mine to make it a little quicker (not that it's slow) but i'll wait until it has about 15k on the clock to enjoy the warranty. plan is to put about $3000 of intercooler, oil catch, meth kit, intake, exhaust and BPV/wastegate work into it.

it's a real concern that resale on mustangs is kinda shit. people expect a really steep discount, and it doesn't help that ferd sells a millionty of them.

the WRX will outperform it in rain/snow for sure. I think the mustang is far and away the better DD though. bitches love mustangs, too, and 95% of them don't even know what a V8 is. i get complements all the time from girls.

>>14137100
No tune?
>>
>>14137113
tune goes without saying
>>
The only good American muscle cars are V8's. The V6 and smaller models aren't that great. Your ecoboost will depreciate and it doesn't put enough power out to warrant the sacrifices it makes, ie practicality, turning, and comfort.
>>
>>14137151
every rustang depreciates like hell v8 or no

lets just chop off 8 grand from MSRP on a one year old car
>>
>>14137151
>practicality, turning, and comfort.

how does it sacrifice those over a v8? it gets better mpgs, is lighter (so it turns better) and the premium models are comfy as hell (in the front seats)
>>
>>14137100
Apparently simple mods and tune really wake the Ecoboost up.

Mustang fits woman + 2 dogs no problem. It's only a problem if you have to haul 3 people and one isn't 5'3 or less

Mustang:
+Comfier interior
+Faster
+Better looking
+-Rear wheel drive
-Tiny back seats

WRX:
+Usable back seats
+Amazing resale value
+-All Wheel Drive
-Spartan interior
-Slower

I think the new WRX is heavier than the Mustang, too, but both are pretty fat for what they are.

Based on this, I think it comes down to whether or not you want AWD for rain and snow and whether or not you want to carry more than one passenger.

The resale value on the WRX is nice, but I would only be in the business of buying a new car if it was my dream car that I was ready to drives for 200,000 miles.

Also,
>Guard Green Mustang
>WRB WRX
Good taste OP.

I'm dumb, it looks like the Mustang is 3500lbs and the WRX is 3200lbs.

The 'stang has better epa mileage though, because

I'd go Mustang over the WRX, especially in based Guard. The 6 speed manual with the 2.3 is good.
