will a road car ever break the sound barrier?
>>14133468
well with 3000hp+ v8 twin turbos i dont think it will be long
>muh veyron
nope its too heavy
>>14133468
You'd need some mad aero to keep it from disintegrating.
>>14133477
how mad are we talking?
>>14133490
is that an MX helmet with wheels
>>14133468
IF you count a land speed car as a road car then it's already happened
>>14133502
Pretty sure he means a production road car so no.
landspeed cars are more boat/plane than a normal car with aero
>>14133508
OP here. precisely. I'm wondering about whether cars that follow our conventional road infrastructure of pavement mayhem will ever cope with those speeds while not fucking its shit up.
>>14133518
no. nobody sane wants cars that destroy every window they pass (including the windows of other cars). now go sit in a corner.
>>14133530
nigga, i'm not asking if they'll be road legal. i'm asking that IF one were designed, it could be driven on the roads, unlike the thrust SCC which has steel discs for wheels.
>>14133530
just get downforce on the windows too
>>14133530
lol look at this slowass
>not driving your car at your factory limiter or above everywhere you go
fuck life it too slow in straya at the posted limit 220km+ on mountain roads is much better
>>14133518
Shame average tarmac would not hold up here as it melts on the average 35-60 degree day in summer and has to be redone 10+ times a year not counting floods
our new concrete highways might take it though ive seen people reach some insane speeds with SS's and big squids
