Actually, McLaren had twin turbo 454 based 496 big block Chevy engines developed for Can Am that made more power than the Porsche, but the series collapsed in on itself with the oil crisis and teams pulling out. There don't seem to be too many specs on the 2JZ in the Titan Supra but the most exotic part seems to be the billet crank, which is necessary to create the stroker. they have been used for years in airplanes and industrial diesel, and all of them are related because they use pressure sensors in the mainfold to understand what the fuck is happening on a boosted engine
related to the discussion a boost controller will let you modify boost levels, the BOV and wastegate pressure and will let you run lower psi to reduce the strain of a modified engine while driving it normally
