Yes, yes there are. And let me explain it to you:
Your tires are all that touches the ground. Your tires have a maximum friction limit before they start to slip.
In a FWD car, your front tires have to steer, accelerate, and brake. When taking a corner, you cannot use a lot of throttle because steering duty + power = wheel slip.
In a RWD car, you can steer the same amount but use more throttle during the corners because your power goes to wheels not burdened by steering. You lose less speed during the corner and can actually accelerate during corners.
Also, from a stop cars shift their weight to the rear. This means that more force is being but downwards on the rear wheels, meaning that you can use more power to accelerate from a stop in a RWD car than FWD before encountering wheelspin.
Also, if you are pro at dorifto, on certain corners you can use the power to "vector" your car's nose into the corner early, allowing for you to accelerate more in the corner and leave with a higher exit speed.

Weight transfers to the rear when you get on the throttle. When you're tracking out on corner exit and want to get on the power you can do so sooner and put more power down with RWD than you can with FWD. In low-powered heavy street cars it matters a lot less since you don't really have the power necessary to overcome the grip capability of the front tires anyway but as power goes up and weight goes down RWD has a distinct advantage.

AWD is heavy and bulky. Doesn't fit in racecar very well. Prototypes have a bit more space but all but the very top level of racing are still RWD and the ones that are AWD usually do it by using only electric power for the front wheels, not like a regular AWD car. You literally can't even drive a RWD in the rain, let alone the snow or any other type of adverse weather. Meanwhile a FWD car can be driven in rain, sleet, snow, and hail because of the superior traction. That's 1-0 for Team FWD
When it comes to weight, RWD are heavy. The lightest practical RWD vehicle is the FRS/BRZ, and even then it's 2800lbs which is roughly the size of a modern 4dr Civic. Storage space is literally no comparison either. The Civic in comparison is a mansion compared to the FRS/BRZ and it can actually fit more than two people. If you want space to compete with a Civic and a RWD car that can fit more 2 people, that's gonna add another couple hundred pounds. Heavy cars require bigger more costly engines to even compete with FWD lightweights. It takes at least a 5.0 liter engine to even compete with a hatchback civic and a few simple mods and even then it's still an easy win for the hatchback.
Fuel economy is a joke in RWD cars. The average RWD car probably only gets around 20mpgs on a good day under optimal conditions. Meanwhile 30+ mpgs is what you're looking at in literally any modern FWD. Again, another point to Team FWD.
Lets not forget that when it comes to speed, a Honda Civic Type R, basically a civic with a turbo, is faster around the Nurringberg than a Corvette. Plus, the Civic Type R didn't end up in a ditch overheating. We're talking a top of the line RWD car losing to a commuter car with a turbo and a bodykit. As DJ Khaled once said "Another One", to Team FWD.
In the end, FWD is the superior drive train, with AWD/4WD taking second place. Sorry Team RWD, have this bronze medal. At least you tried.

On FWD, the front tires wear much faster and need to be rotated more often.
You also would typically want narrower tires in the rear of most FWD cars, but they're the same size in the rear to make it cheaper to get tires and so you can rotate them, so they end up with wider rear tires than they need that increase rolling resistance (along with increased tendency to understeer).
Other than that, it's all handling and performance.

1. I do know how traction works. I have done full vector analysis of individual tires of cars on inclined corners for my dynamics classes. Your tires have a certain coefficient of friction, which varies by temp and contact patch. Trying to accelerate with the same tires you are turning with is begging for understeer.
2. Suspension setups are another variable, yes, and I know quite a lot about them. But my argument was that, all things being equal, RWD will be able to take corners faster. And that's true.
3. Tire wear is another variable, yes, but what are you trying to achieve by pointing this out?
4. I fully understand how stopping works, having driven cars on the street, the strip, the autoX, and the track... Not to mention I was converting cars from drum to disk when I was 15... Not to mention the mechanical engineering degree... But really, what does stopping have to do with corner exit speeds between pseudo-equivalent FWD and RWD cars? Nothing, that's what.
Oh, an I also forgot to add in my original post that RWD cars generally have better mass distribution, for what little that's worth.
