Manual Pontiac g5 (cobalt) driver here.
Slow as fucking balls we got it because cheap from family. A GT/SS seems like a different class of car and wouldnt be so bad (as a DD) but fwd has its limitations and I would say the power of a cobalt ss with the factory upgrade (290hp) would be its power limit unless you want a drag car that isn't turning.

"AWD" is good in the sense of LMP cars and the Porsche 918, where there's no engine attached to the front wheels and a maximum of <10% of the total power output is sent to the front. It's bad in the sense of the WRX and Eclipse where 50% of the power is sent to the front wheels, and absolutely worthless in the sense of VAG and Honda garbage that sends all of the power to the front wheels except for maybe a little to the rear under some circumstances.
