Y/o/ my father is insisting he buy my first car for me, but he want's be to buy a Toyota rav4(Pic), the 2000's model second hand for around 5k, give me something to change his mind.

That is a great first car though anon. don't worry about it. You're a beginning driver and will be able to go beyond your limits and crash in anything motorized.
If there is already a good rav-4 he has his eyes on then take it.
If he is dead set on the model for no reason other than fanboyism just tell him to keep his mind open because there are better deals out there than what you are actively searching for.
