ITT: shit you want to do just for fun. money doesn't have to be an object, practicality is a fallacy.
I always wanted to take a 5 speed Geo Metro and do an engine swap with a two stroke, 3 cylinder engine out of a sled or something.
>>14124955
I really want to tear apart that scoot and mod it. Bigger cylinders and parts are so cheap.
But I would be better off buying a shitty Chinese scooter for $400 instead of destroying the Yamaha.
>>14124955
And a 2-stroke Rotax or something would be dope in a Geo. My old Sea-Doo had one, like 900cc or something.
>>14124977
that sound when shifting would just sound amazing
>>14124955
I want to get a new, fast car, and a painfully slow and beaten shitbox.
Swap engines.
Bring to car show and park next to each other.
11.5L X24 with 6 superchargers.
Just to see it.
Want to get 4 space saver spares for my wrx for sick awd Drifto fun at an autocross
I want an s54 individual throttle body on my M50 engine, then turbo the piss out of it.
Also new Audi/Porsche automatic spoiler on my e36.
2000hp Lamborghini
4 wheel drive, so 2 sets of wheels at the rear for power, 1 set of wheels at the front for steering.
Active aero that ripples as you brake for a corner or accelerate.

Turbo-alternator mounted on a V6 with solenoid actuated intake and exhaust valves paired with a gear driven CVT.
That is my idea.
to solve the issue of beefing cars to a 36 volt based system, look back at when capacitors were used to prevent arcing between the points on a distributor and rotor. I still can't figure it out but when I do I'm cailing bosch.

Have fun wrecking your center diff.

I've got a whole list somewhere. It basically just involves a lot of turbo's.

Mix this....
This. And a 1.4T swap.
>>14126955
With this.
Period correct AND batshit insane. Fuckyeah!
>>14126956
Now that you mention 1.4T swap, a first gen Panda would be crazy with a modern 1.4 T-Jet in it. Or maybe the 4c's 1.8 turbo, that's be even crazier.
>>14126961
I'd love to do pic related, but with two blowers instead of one. This really annoys my symmetry autism.
6.1 litre Single Cylinder Hemi
Why? because fuck you
>>14126965
Pic related with a Honda swap would be great - although the engine from an A45 AMG would be even better. It wouldn't fit, but I don't really care.
>>14126968

I want to go to Ford Octane Academy but I can't fit it into my work schedule
>>14126981
Any old fullsize luxury with that would be great. S-class, 7 series, old 4 door Jags, it'll work.
However, it will never handle anyways - so why the hell use a small block when you can use a big block?
sleeper 1989 Toyota corolla with the supercharged Toyota 2ZZ-GE. I even tried contacting lotus about it bUT they are pursuing other avenues at this time
>>14124955
probs build one of these with a boxer 8 or something silly
>inb4 FWD hurrr
>obviously I would keep the stock engine up front as weight
>place new engine in the bed for RWD
If I'm ever rich and get the chance to open a classic car restoration shop, I'm going to build a car hauler with a sliding tarp zero degree slide bed and a vintage COE cab on a modern chassis either with an LPG converted V8 for propulsion or to recharge an army of batteries that run electric motors.
>>14124955
Ive got a metro, I wanna gut it and put a big ass V8 from a beat to shit van right smack dab in the middle of it. But its my only car, so thatll have to wait.
I love the form factor and reliability of the Datsun A series, and the fact that it's a pushrod engine that can hit 8,000RPM without much trouble.
And I also like cycle karts (pic related, and if you don't know what a cycle kart is, read this: http://www.petrolicious.com/cyclekarts ), along with classic F3 race cars.
My psycho vision that will probably never materialize: match the two together to create a cycle kart sized frankenstein style open top F3 racer thing from hell.
A slightly stretched cycle kart from hell using an obviously custom frame and as many junk yard parts as I can get (steering rack, hubs, suspension, brakes, cooling system, rear diff, etc),
and an A12 or A14 engine and manual trans to power and move it.
>>14127055
Now the real impetus for this build originally was the possibility of using spare tires.
Yes.
You see, spare tires are readily available new for not much money, they're small at 105mm to 145mm wide, and they're the right look for what this would theoretically look like. I could slightly change my gear ratios on the fly simply by swapping wheel diameter sizes.
And all of you saying that putting a doughnut on a vehicle that is going over 55mph us stupid, just realize that's put on the tire because they are expecting it to be used on a vehicle that is thousands of pounds, and with differently sized tires. Plus, they're expecting that it could be a decade or more before you need to use it, so it's also them covering their ass.
But I mean, shit, a new Kumho 105/70/D14 tire is only $40 new. Talk about cheap rubber, SOMEONE has got to do something with that.
>>14127055
some guy here on /o/ did that pretty recenty with an old volvo engine/crossmember/front suspension components and made the rest of the frame out of bedsheets
it was pretty cool, everyone loved it, i like the power to weight aspect about it
I want the market to expand on ultra lightweight transportation
I want to see more popularity of efficient 49cc engines, that with advancements could turn a minimum of 15hp at the rear wheels for high speed lightweight and fuel efficient travel. Something better than the current markets 2 stroke/4 stroke $100 Chinese shit
But fuck it, i just want to build a pushbike with a Honda CT110 engine on it featuring its reliable automatic gearbox and suicide shifter set up
>>14126887
How about a quick spool valve built into the exhaust intake of a twin scroll turbo housing?
Basically turn a 1.00 into a .50 until you open the valve
<this in a car pointing the right way
>>14127224
Damn son, you stole my idea. I was thinking of an orange 1602. Not a 2002, with a 1602 the displacement would match the original vehicle. They sound amazing for the kind of huge touring bike they are.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOxbhrzDSKI
It'd be even better with somekind of sequential gearbox behind it, and a tiny set of twinturbos.
>>14127246
>>14127224
And I bet you could get it to make this sound
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8tkVSKb77Y
With some exhaust work. You'd probably need a custom manifold and exhaust anyways.
>>14124965
why not buy a salvage one and use the drivetrain keeping yours stock?

It'll never sound as raw as an air cooled CBX.
That's something modern Superbikes don't have on the older 2 valve Kwakas and Suzukis.
I always thought about swamping a Subaru 3.6 into a STI. Would do some head work, gasket matching work, along with a nice exhaust. Try to get it to like 350 with no forced induction. I know the 2.5 can give way more power but I think it be fun to have a car with the low end TQ of the bigger engine
>>14127486
You'll find a turbo 2.5 making similar power would have more low end torque anyway.
>>14127496
Would it? I find that hard to believe
>>14127535
>I find that hard to believe
Maybe if you don't know anything about turbocharging.
I want to put two Honda VTEC heads on a LS1.
>>14126944
>>14127542
Why be an asshole anon? I'm talking about low end tq plus the 3.6 wouldn't have turbo lag
>>14126944
.
>>14127556
>Why be an asshole anon?
Why be retarded anon?
>I'm talking about low end tq
Of which an engine over 2/3rds the size, plus a turbocharger would come out superior.
>plus the 3.6 wouldn't have turbo lag
Neither would a 2.5 with an appropriately matched turbocharger.
PS, a 3.6 with a target peak of 350hp is not going to have any low end torque, what so ever.
>>14126965
Is that twin turbo with a blower on top? That's insane.
>>14127574
>irrelevant meming
Pointing out your flawed logic=/=stop liking what I don't like.
>>14127571
You are calling me retarded? Just googled it,stock 2015 STI is pushing about 120ft/lbs at 2000 RPM, the stock 3.6 is pushing out 200 - 225 depending on what graph i'm looking at.
Never said it was practical and the thread is for shit you'd do for fun. I've driven STIs and the shittiest thing about them is the lack of tq and turbo lag, the 3.6 would solve both them issues.
>>14127580
you talking to some else now you autistic faggot.
>>14127550
Pretty much impossible. Might as well make a V8 block from scratch to fit those heads.

>not knowing you're talking to someone else on an anonymous board is autistic
You're showing your true colours, autist.
>>14127582
And now, lets modify said 3.6 to produce a peak of 350hp, as mentioned originally (of which would have to spin to almost 7500rpm to do so). How much low end torque do you think that 3.6 is producing with a top end design to allow such outputs?

That makes you a dumbass.
>Getting butt hurt that that other anon wants a larger engine than what you want him to have.
That makes you autistic as fuck m8. Stay mad. Im gonna turbo a 3.6l now also m8. fight me irl.
Swap in a >5L flat-four out of a small plane that can still run on low octane fuel for diesel tier torque.
Better yet swap in one of those 5L diesel flat-fours made to run on jet fuel and slap on a bigger turbo for maximum torque out of four cylinders.
