There are 6 year options at a few select schools where you can do 3 years undergrad and 3 years postgrad, but most colleges require you to have a bachelor's degree before applying to their doctor of pharmacy programs.
The 3 year option just means you go to school year-round rather than taking summers off. There's no difference in the program length or number of credit hours achieved.

Varies by state. The standard is CPhT, administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. It's like $110 I think, and it's only 90 questions. You schedule it through PearsonVue.
Anyway, a lot of retail pharmacies, such as CVS, RiteAid, Wallgreens, etc. don't require any sort of certification as they have their own training programs. These are the ones who tend to pay lower, however.
Inpatient and satellite pharmacies, namely hospitals, clinics, and specialist offices, generally use the CPhT as their bottom of the barrel standard. These are the ones that tend to pay more.

National average for techs is around $15/hr. In retail settings, average is around $11-$13/hr, and in clinical/inpatient settings, average is closer to $16-$18/hr. I'm a lead tech, since I've been a licensed tech for five years I got moved up into more of a management position over other techs and I get paid $25/hr. I still do regular tech tasks, but I help manage things like hiring, scheduling, and training new guys & gals.
It really depends mostly on location though. You can easily clear $30/hr+ as an inpatient tech in places like California, but if you live somewhere like Mississippi it will be considerably less (taking into account cost of living). Overall it's a solid career, very easy to break into, and has lots of growth and tons of openings. Plus you get to wear a lab coat and look like you know what you're doing.
