RE050A were freaking good. Albeit, the thread was so soft that if you gave them temperature and parked the car, the next time you went for a drive you would need a couple minutes to notice the parking spot disappearing.

S001's came out with a stiffer thread and a softer sidewall. They're good, but the softer sidewall is pretty noticeable!

I don't even bother trying any lower tier tired. RE050A are in EOL so I've changed to Michelin. Actually I'm going to have them fitted next Monday, Super Sports.

Have in mind that all cars react differently to different tires, that means that a tire that behaves good with my car may not react as well with yours.

For instance, i had Pzeros Nero on my current FWD, nice tire overall, on another car i used to have, rwd, the same tires were rubbish. Absolutely no progression, and they were I good, they simply didn't work out with that car, imho.
>>
>>14120179
No they aren't better than the RE71r, despite whatever that fatass Farah would lead you to believe.
>>
>>14120182
>>14120190

Being idiots and dissing a good tire just because it's a well known brand. Faggot.

Potenza S001 125€ each
Michelin SuperSport 135€

Yeah. That's a real tax right there.

Fuck of.
>>
>>14120205
Are you stupid?

You said it was better. It isn't. Deal with it fag.
>>
>>14120179
Better than $1000+ formula one tires?
>>
>>14120210

They are good tires. And only a proper idiot would diss them.

Now get back to your Forza or whatever armchair car you have.
>>
>>14120225
No one is dissing them you fucking idiot, but they aren't better than re70s. Bye now.
>>
>>14120225
Eh there are better and cheaper options, like the RE71r, AD08r, Dunlop Direzza ZII, etc.
>>
>>14120233

Actually they are.

The 70's are more noisy, they track more, need more heat and perform under average on the rain.

>>14120234

All inferior except the Neovas.
>>
>>14120234
>>14120258

And the Neovas have a min ambient temp requirement or else the compound may crack.

In a couple years, after you get a car yourself, you'll start to consider those.

As certain as me calling you an idiot right now.

Idiot.
>>
>>14120269

Confirmed for underaged faggot that has never drove a car or bought a set of tires himself.

Stop feeding the troll.
>>
>>14120273
The MPSS is not even in the same class as the tires listed, all of which blow out the MPSS in terms of grip while still having reasonable life and wet performance.
>>
>>14120233
Re70s are a pretty shit tier tire, dick ass grip in rain, dick ass grip under like 40-50F, dickass grip until warmed up.

Now the re11, that is a good tire.

Now since this is a tire thread...just got the cinturato p7 on my shitbox, and it is probably the best tire I have ever driven on. If they could fit my 335, it would probably be wearing them too.

Spotted the boomers.

I live in shitty sub 40 degree northeast so switching to Pilot AS3s has been basically a sidegrade from re50s
>>

>>

Seriously.

>>14120279

Muh Miata. Muh MR2, muh rustbucket. My anime.

You know, there are civilized zones in the world that don't require the hassle of changing tires with seasons. Just sayin'...
>>

Hey keep cherry picking there, fuck nut. 50F isn't winter on half the planet.
>>
>>14120289
R70 performs better in dry. Period. End of discussion you fucking moron.
>>
>>14120289
I've driven on both the MPSS and the RE11a on the same car, so I have a pretty good idea of what I'm talking about. The MPSS has less dry grip and feel.
>>
>>14120289
Are you just meme spouting ad hominems now because you bought the Supersport for your first tire and can't imagine anything would be better?
>>
>>14120295

Nope. Still wrong. Doesn't matter how many times you repeat it.

It isn't.

>>14120297

I've also driven both on the same car and the SS is better.
>>
>>14120305
It plainly is not in terms of grip, maybe in terms of road manners.
>>
>>14120302

Nah. I'm just doing it because morons like yourself don't deserve any better.
>>
>>14120286
Literally compared two summer performace tires, and you bitch about one of them being worse in all aspects as bad logic...lol
>>
>>14120305
The PSS is 300 treadler bs
>>
>>14120308

Superior. In everything.
>>
>>14120293
>Gets proven wrong

>Brings up irrelevant metrics like winter performance (lol)
Okay dude, I can see that you're just an idiot, so I'm leaving this thread. Enjoy your marked up tire with less grip. Since I'm an enthusiast and not a A to B commuter cuck I care about dry grip. And since the Potenza is not only cheaper, but better, it's a no brainer. Seeya fag.
>>
>>14120315
The PSS is 300 treadwear, the RE11a is 200 treadwear
>>
>>14120314

Step one to identify a bench racer. They talk about tw ratings.

That shit is worth 0. Basically every manufacturer arbitrarily uses a value they think the tire should have.

You idiot.

If you can even point out what you magically proved me "wrong" on, I'll leave /o/ forever, and I've been here for near a decade. Hell the post you cried about of mine is comparing two summer tires made by the same fucking company

I think you're just babbling so much stupid you're assuming everyone that is telling you that you're wrong is a samefag.

And after reviewing it, it's correct. You dumbfuck. You don't even know your own language.

Can you control all variables? Temperature? Asphalt type? Ambient temp? Type of car? Type of driver? Suspension tuning?

Piss off.

Both are correct. Simply "teached" has fallen from use.

Actually they did control for type of car, all were on the same type of car on the same track on the same day. So its fair to say conditions were identical.

For those of you just joining us, a source has been posted that proves SuperSports are inferior to several tires and it is too much for the PSS autist to handle
>>
>He fell for the Michelin meme
Embarrassing.
>>
>>14120411

> The Treadwear Grade describes how a tire manufacturer views the wear of a given tire. In theory, this means that a tire with a 200 grade will wear twice as long as a tire with a 100 grade. However, tire manufacturers are not under any obligation to grade a tire based on the test results, except to say that they can not overstate the grade.

Would you trust a tire from the same country who surrendered in WW2? I wouldn't.

>>14120450
The tires are so close in performance that more than likely bias is the only thing that could make anywhere here even see a difference. I doubt anyone needs to be validated. Assuming this is even still about the PSS, they're a great tire.

PSS is a second slower over two laps than the Direzza ZII kek

not so good in the rain
>>
>>14120234
isn't it kind of unfair to compare the PSS to those? PSS(max performance summer) is wet and dry performance, stuff like the RE71r is dry-only(extreme performance summer)

also, not sure why but a set of PSS is $850, but a set of RE71r is $980 for my setup
>>
>>14120118

Never fucked with Bridgestones but they're bound to be better than P Zeros

I am on ExtremeContacts right now and I'm very happy with the performance
>>
>>14120604
From my experience, RE-11s grip amazingly well in the rain. Guys I know who have been autocrossing ~20 or so years agree.
