Ofcourse it can

But, if it can be repaired with the goal of it being worth more than the initial value of the fucked car + price to fix depends on the car, how much you do yourself and so on. On a general basis; no

>it can be fixed but never normal again
No reason that would be true.

if the battery is in it, all the electronics will be fucked. Engine electronics are usually waterproof, but the combination of electric charge + water will fry them in their cases.

a completely discharged, batteryless car might be okay.

Is OP's picture the one where the babby truck tries to pull the car out but then falls in? I would think that little truck would be totalled, as well as the car. Not sure why they try to raise it

batteries don't do shit in water.
As long as the car wasn't running it would be mostly fine except for the mold and shit that would eventually grow if you didn't completely strip the interior and clean all the vents and everything in the hvac system.
>>

If you're willing to spend about the same amount of money fixing it as you would a new car, sure. But the electronics are definitely fucked, the engine might need disassembly if it got water in it, the interior will mold and most of it will need to be replaced, it will have severe rust issues later on, etc.

Without a full rotisserie restoration, any submerged car will never be the same, and that shit is expensive as fuck. Unless it was something extremely valuable like the gayron that got submerged, it's 99% of the time not worth it.

Change all fluids and get watter out of crank case and cylinders. Fix any electrical that is fuckdd. Replace ecus replace interior . Pretty much rebuild car and probly still have random electrical demons . Not worth it unless your talking a really nice car

They're all Photoshopped to shit.

Because you can't dump hazardous materials in bodies of water. The van and lorry were both scrap but that's not the same as saying you can just leave them there.
>>

>can it be repaired
Yes
Whether it's worth it is a different story

I see flood cars come in all the time. Usually the most damage is done to the interior (smells like shit and mold) so you would have to strip the entire interior out which is no simple task.

Then you usually have water in the transmission and engine because most flood cars happen because stud McDingus thought the water wasn't so deep and revved into it.

Sure some drive fine. It just depends on how bad the flood was. But if an insurance company totals by flood then I wouldn't drive it

This.

The reason you scrap flood cars is because the interior usually has to be completely gutted and redone.

There's no mechanical reason to scrap them, unless they inhaled water while running and hydrolock. Change/flush the fluids and they're pretty much good as new.
