Hey /o/, I'm looking to put a new seat in my car as it's been pretty heavily modified and I have almost no neck support

Because I don't wan't to break my neck if I get rear ended and because I have some spare cash I'm considering a new seat.

I'm looking at a Status Racing Ring GT fixed back all in, with brackets like $1100

Any anons have experience with Status? Suggestions for other Autox/FIA rated seats?

Hadn't seen a seat thread on /o/ before, so I'm not sure what to expect

I could never buy a seat from a company with such a goofy name, get a recaro pole position and shut up
>>
All or nothing.

Fixed back seats and harnesses without a roll bar is deadly.

Same with fixed back/ harnesses/roll bar without helmet.

Stock is safest because it allows your body to "fold" down if the roof caves in.
>>
>>14114742
I feel like the likelihood of me flipping over and being crushed is significantly less than being hit from behind at any speed and getting severe whiplash or breaking my neck. The structure of the car should survive a rollover. I'd be running a 5 point attached to a bar but I wouldn't be running a full cage. I'm not completely negating all danger but I'm reducing the likelihood of common injury I'm exposed to now
>>
>>14114742
Why are fixed back so bad if you have no roll bars?
>>
>>14114985
because he's dumb as fuck
>>
>>14115051
I think he means if you're putting a harness in with it because you're not folding over much in a harness opposed to the normal seat belt.

Maybe i'm looking too much into the sperg though.

$1100 for seats ho lee fuk m8

>>14114728
BRIDE Gias or Stradia. Status is for stancefags. You don't need a fix back you fag
>>
>>14114728
look on motorsports sales websites and you'll find some fixed recaros for a lot less.
new recaro race seats are like 5 grand a pair, you can find a used pair for a grand
>>
>>14114728
Buy something used if it's still decent. I don't recommend fiberglass seats because the last thing you need in an accident is fragments of fiberglass embedded in your body. Metal/carbon fiber construction or GTFO. I was going to buy a bare aluminum Kirkey seat for $240 (which is as cheap as you can go for a trustworthy brand) but that would require needing me to make/buy seat rails to mount them. I ended up scoring two used Cobra Monaco steel-back seats from a friend for $300 that bolt in like OEM. "Status" sounds like and seems to be stancefag shit. I wouldn't trust that overpriced garbage. Corbeau makes an FIA approved seat for like $260. They were $240 earlier this year but apparently they just redesigned it. If you really want to overpay, go ahead and get Bride seats or something but you'll probably end up buying a knockoff since those seem to be the most copied brand.

Might pick up a pair of these in cloth since my vinyl leather seats are showing wear.

i have
>fixed back 2014 sparco
>no rollcage (roll bars are hilariously unsafe)
>4 point harness
>and stock 3 point seat belt

Its fucking stupid to think that because you're in a fixed back seat you are somehow less safe than a stock folding seat. Wearing a rigid harness in traffic isn't safe simply because you cant properly look out of your vehicle to check for traffic since you cant move much. I wear a stock seat when on the road and wear the 4 point when at an autocross or hpd/pdx

Enjoy your submarining.
>>
>>14115940
When did people become such pussies? The likelihood of that happening is pretty slim on a track, you'd have to hit something pretty fucking hard.

It's actually pretty much guaranteed in a crash. The danger isn't sliding underneath the belt, it's having the buckle ride up and catch you in the abdomen.

Enjoy dying the same agonizing death Houdini did.

Why don't you get the seats out of your cars highest trim?p

For me it would be type r seats.. It fits the stock rails and I can have a 5pt and it's not a fixed back..

No. I got the whole set for $200. Another anon said the price was so low that I might as well have stolen them. The nickname stuck when other anons asked me to trip up

Kirkey intermediate road race

Aluminum, better support than most, looks hardkore as fuck, is most likely fairly comfortable, and about $500 with the cover.

I have a 39 series in one of my cars, and it's actually pretty damn comfortable. Getting in/out without a removable wheel or sliders is a pain, but once you're in there it's really not bad at all. Picked mine up for $75 with the cover from a circle track guy that switched to something else, spent a few hours with some bar stock and a tap, had it all in for under $150.
>>
>>14118480
Only the driver's seat has any tears or rips. All the others are mint.
The guy who was parting out the Redline had no idea what he had. He offered the complete engine for $200 when the supercharger setup alone goes for $400+. That $200 for the seats included the 2 fronts and matching rears

>>14118858
Ever parted out a car before? Most people can't sit on stuff for months and leave a carcass of a car on their property, if you want to get rid of it quick you have to price accordingly, especially if you want other people to take the parts off rather than spend your own time yanking the engine/trans and whatnot
>>
>>14118962
The engine was useless to me unless I could make the computers play nice. In order to use the engine, I'd have to rewire the entire car. I did my research beforehand.

cleaned up nice. Took that pic when I took the seats out of the parts car. No more stains.

How much should bucket seats out of an early fox mustang cost from a salvage yard?
>>
OP here, reason I liked this particular seat was that it came in suede, was a perfect fit when I sat in one (brides have been too narrow, even larger ones, these fit my 34" waist properly) they are in a similar price bracket to similar race/street buckets and are American made with sterling reviews with no knock offs on the market and are bottom mountable. They are more expensive than the economy FIA rated seats mentioned but those seats are largely unuseable for DD which I use my car for in addition to autox. Its 900 for the seat and another 93 for brackets, priced competitive with a sparco evo, or recaro bucket

OMP seats are FIA certified.

I have the Champ R and it's great for road use. You will have to be careful with the bolstering on the seat, some seats are comfortable to sit in and offer great support but are a pain to get out of inside the car unless you have a full cage to grab onto.

I bought the Champ R because it's the same as teh WRC R and a few other racing seats but with lower side bolsters so you can get out of it easily.

I just drove a car with those seats and their wheel, pretty nice for a mix of road/track.

I've been looking at these seats but I think I'll end up having some cheap aluminum low fixed back Kirkeys upholstered

ive been meaning to buy oxi clean for a long time
ever try their laundry stuff?
>>
>>14122998
To be honest, I've never used it for the laundry. I first used the stuff in my car when a cola can exploded when left in my car. The oxi clean cleaned the cola stains from the seats and headliner. You'd never know a can exploded in there
>>
>>14122998
I use it for laundry stuff, and honestly, it is some of the best stain remover I have ever used. For a "Seen on TV" product, it actually works as intended. I also used it on the carpeting in my car, and worked really well. 10/10, would recommend.
