Hello.
I will be purchasing my first car within six months. I would like something is easy on gas, four doors, slightly distinct, but less than $5000 USD. Have any ideas?
Picture of what I want, but can't get.

The easy answer is a Subaru WRX, but how about a Volvo 240?

Because I don't really care to. I just need something to get to school and back and was hoping someone would have advice.

rwd is the only performance

Honestly, for a regular commuter car, get a corolla or a civic. It's boring, but you really can't go wrong. Those cars are literally built for that purpose. If you wanted to, you could find one with a manual transmission, especially on the older ones.

The Volvo looks good, and it fits my budget. Thanks for the help.

The 240 is a great vehicle, but it is not "easy on gas" compared to a Corolla or something. It gets low 20s I think.

That doesn't sound too bad. That is to school and back for about $1.60.
