Oh man I had a moment like that when I was shopping for my next car. I was almost set on getting a 2001 corolla but I couldnt let myself spend that much on something I hated. I'll get a normal car one day but only when I have the space for 2 cars.

I get up every day in the stupid hours of the morning, and drive to a shit job to earn money to run my car.
It's not even that fast a car. It's a reliable, dependable, safe car I'm driving while saving up for something more fun. And while basically grinding my driving/parking skills to get a job driving vans so I can get more money.
Although the 'fun' got closer when I realised I can get a motorbike on the cheap.
I was all set to have one by now/end of January, but the one I was going to buy got wrecked by a failed theft and written off by the insurance. So, now I have more time to save up and find another one to buy, as well as get the safety gear and training.
At least my 'reliable and cheap' car is relatively fancy and fun to drive. Underpowered for insurance purposes, but it handles really well.
