You fix the problems it has, get it a nice detailing, and sell it for a car that's lighter with a better knowledgebase for performance.

Alternatively trade it for a 600 supersport bike or a SV650.

Then you're fucked, quit posting. Get a car that already has a ton of people turning them into racecar or buy a sportbike and worry more about learning how to ride it.

Again, if you can't Google the answer and find a answer to your question on a forum dedicated to your car, its likely going to be more difficult than its worth doing.

Just polish it up, sell it, and get something worth doing.

Best fix is an oily rag in the filler neck and a match tbqh breh.
>>
What car is it?
>>
>>14106981
A thicker rear anti-sway bar (also known as anti-roll bar, or stiffener bar) will put more load on the rear wheels and make your car more neutral or even oversteery. A FWD car will never oversteer under acceleration, but you can make it oversteer under braking/lifting off the throttle or even steady-state cornering. You want to be careful because with less weight over the rear wheels, it can easily come in the form of snap oversteer. So don’t get one that’s too stiff.
>>
>>14107138
what about decreasing weight while still being able to carry four people?
>>
>>14107109
yes it is

because we get a thread at least once a week about some high schooler trying to make his parents ford taurus/chevy lumina into a race car after he saw initial d

either sell the car and get something worth building (bmw e30/e36, honda civic/integra, mazda miata) or buy a sportbike and keep the car
>>
>>14107160
Smash all the glass, rip out all the carpet, remove spare tyre, remove all interior trim, delete AC and PS, remove wiring for those systems, drill holes in the base of your rims for maximum weight reduction.
>>
>>14107196
i dont want to sell my car and thats final
why would i sell my car and only be able to afford a shitbox id need to build from the ground up when i have a car right now that i can tune
>>
>>14107160
Lower weight is good for handling, but you won't be able to remove enough to have a greater effect than a stiffer rear bar.
>>
>>14107217
i mean lower weight in addition to the rear bar
>>
>>14107203
Tell us wtf it is, it'll affect what your tuning priorities will need to be.
>>
>>14107203
because building your primary form of transportation into a race car never works out and only turns it into one big compromise machine that isn't a reliable comfortable primary form of transportation or a fast race car

you think im joking but i'm really not, get a sportbike if you can't afford a second car

Spare wheels at the rear
>>
>>14107249
50/50 weight distribution isnt even good for FF so thatd just increase the weight for no reason
>>
>>14107223
It'll help a little bit, but not much. Get a carbon fiber hood (with proper hood pins) but I wouldn't do much else.
Priorities should be:
1. Rear anti-sway bar
2. springs/shocks (what kind, you ask? tell us what goddamn car you have already!!)
3. lightweight, wider wheels with UHP tires
4. motor mounts
5. carbon fiber hood
5. power mods, starting with intake/ cat-back exhaust
>>
>>14107316
should the wheels at the front be wider than the rear?
what about alignments and camber
>>
>>14107326

>>
>>14107326
Handling is a matter of self-confidence. If you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything.
>>
>>14107434
That’s a challenge because their steering doesn’t feel very precise, and there’s no easy way to change it.

In a hardcore race car you’d use wider and larger front wheels, but on a street car just keep them the same so you can still rotate your tires. FWD cars usually have hard limits on how large you can go in front – too wide a wheel and you won’t be able turn all the way without rubbing. That’s why a lot of the sportier Hondas and Acuras have such wide turn radiuses.

Max out front caster. Camber should be mildly negative front and back, maybe -1.0 degree. More if you turn like a maniac. Toe should be minimally inward in front, a little bit more in the back.

That's not even that bad, at least in terms of handling. And bolt-ons are easier to find for that car. Start with the sway bar, then look for better tires.

Reverse stagger wheels and left foot braking.

It would be much worse if i made a thread and it got no replies because people thought they were too "enthusiast" to answer a basic question.
>>
>>14106995
the one and only correct answer.

Make the rear stiff enough and the front soft enough, you can make any car oversteer.

But it is about preventing understeer. Oversteer isnt always drifting, it can also be used to rotate the car around corners, especially when utilizing left foot braking and trail braking.

Then don't complain about lack of advice if that isn't you, the swaybar thing and tire fuckery are legitimately good advice.

Also, coming from someone with two cars, having a second vehicle is great. You can fuck around with parts on the other one while still bein able to drive places. I'd consider it.

wrong
>>
>>14107434
The key thing is compliance. You've gotta both remove the steeering bushings, perhaps stiffen the front suspension bushings, and then fit stiffer anti roll bars front and rear.

Then the trick is fitting the thicker front anti-roll bar with soft bushings, so that it has little effect on a straight line, but keeps the roll under control when at full attack. In order to get the balance as close to neutral as possible all you have to do is to make the rear anti-roll bar (this one with the stiffest bushings) adjustable.

It won't be a cornering demon, but it should suffice to make it chuckable. You could play with camber and increasing the tire size, but as I understand that isn't as simple.
>>
>>14112462
>Then the trick is fitting the thicker front anti-roll bar with soft bushings, so that it has little effect on a straight line

sway bars don't affect straight line anyway you tard
>>
>Every road is perfectly smooth
If that was the case, the front anti roll bar wouldn't affect straight line stability at all.

Put wider tires on the front and stiffen the suspension all around. After that maybe a bit stiffer sway bar in the front end. I'm no expert with this shit though, do your research.
