I've gotten nothing but positive feed back about my stock 90 miata. I just drove from Philly to GA in mine for Christmas and had a stancebro in an NC give me a miatabro wave.

I haven't gotten a reply in the QTDDTOT thread, so I'm trying again here.
What's the deal with Miata NB steering wheels? Some have the Nardi logo in the center, some have the Mazda logo in the center and the Nardi logo on the bottom spoke, some only have the Mazda logo. Were the different versions tied to different model years or trims, or how does it work exactly? And are they interchangable?

I'm not really an NB guy, but yes, I'm pretty sure the different steering wheels came with different trim packages. which trim packages came with what, I do not know. I would check here for more info: http://www.miata.net/garage/

This Saturday I'm going to look at a 1996 Miata with only 54k miles.
I'm 6'4 and I've never tried sitting in a Miata before, how tight of a fit will it be?

it's gonna be tight. I'm 6'1 and I have about 3 inches of headroom with the hard top. I have bad posture though. my legs are slightly bent with the seat all the way back. I'm sure you've heard about the foamectomy mod? I'm not sure how much space that yields but you should check that out.

I hope I can actually use the pedals, luckily my shoe size is only 11.5 so it's not like I have huge feet.

Listen, less weight is not always good. I loathe to bring up the GTR for my example, but it highlights quite well how increased weight was actually used to increase handling around twisties.

i dont know anything about miatas but why does everybody try to sell their hardtops for over $1k?
i dont like miatas, but i searched miata on craigslist to see what i would find and a bunch of hardtops for $1k+ came up for sale
do they actually go for that much or is somebody just trying to jack up the price of their hardtop by posting a bunch of fake ads?

maybe a fully loaded SE with sunroof option.
stock base model with slicktop is around high 2600's & average package sunroof models are in the low 2700's range.
plus you can strip them to 2400-2500 before chopping anything off

I set the bar low. Ideally you want a car around the same weight as a Lotus 2,000-2100lbs.
The point I was trying to make is there are no other cars in the same weight class stock, period.
Why do people like Miatas?
Is it because of the pop up headlights and they are cheap cars?
