What do you drive /o/?

I have a "sleeper" (my friends call it a sleeper at least) 1990 Volvo 740 Turbo. Mods are GM 490cc injectors, tuned on 19lbs of boost, E85, welded diff, gutted, and some things I know I'm forgetting.

Manual is crap the gear ratios are all wrong, having to change up way to soon

Steering is quite good in comparision to french shit i have and much better than the clk i have,


I would have purchased a 2009 s5
but insurance fucked me over
so went for 2011 spec ed 2.0tdi as petrols and 2.7+ diesels were to pricey on insurance

a 2/7/900 turbo with just intake exhaust and a cam can beat the typical 'ricer.' if thats really your goal, then why waste the time and money to make 300hp and just make 200hp instead?

no one here has created a 300hp, so no one can give you a blueprint. you're going to have to do some actually learning and research. :shock:

read that webpage. it will tell you exactly how to make a 16v turbo, and if you think that's too much work, then stop dreaming of 300hp. money-wise, you might as well just buy an early 90s M3, it'll cost you the same, and you'll be more stylish.

I don't need a 16v head to make 300 hp. I need a came and bigger valves. Slap the HX35 on with a new tune and it would be over 300 hp. It's not a dream. It's simple. I've done my research on how to make that power. Now if I was going for like 500 hp yes I would go 16v but at that point I'd swap something into it.

No, i bought one because a lot of people in my family had similar cars. grandpa had a old cadillac with a ton of miles he bought new, mother had a tahoe with a ton of miles on it she bought new, sister had a regal with a ton of miles on it and so-on. I admired the reliability of those cars even if they were ugly or not as fancy as other choices and it wasn't like i could have bought something more fun for the money i had so i went with what my family had. Don't regret my decision just glad its been reliable so far (drove it across the country on several occasions). Yea probably could have bought a better overall package but its not like i bought a rust bucket.

V6 can sound pretty good but there's no doubt the SS would sound better (in my opinion at least) plus i like big V8 RWD sedans like the Crown Vic and Chevy Caprice

4l i6. Faster than a full sized 2-and-a-quarter ton luxury car should be. It's not the supercharged version, but it kicks a lot of ass. 300 ft lbs of torque makes my tires spin for days. The torque curve is ridiculously straight too, Ill try to find the graph. It looks like a prairie. So much comfy to drive and the induction noise is amazing.

It takes 20 - 30% more fuel to run your car on E85.

So if you're going E85 you need to do injectors, fuel pump, lines, and regulator. Your tuner needs to tune your ecu to accept the fuel and more power you'll be making. Does that make sense?

It doesn't have to be 70psi but it's gonna be around 100% DC to get 300hp.
That's gonna burn your injectors up pretty quick.
Saying that, why do these cunts always quote flow figures at 100% when you're supposed to run them at 85% maximum?

Okay so my 490cc injectors are 47 lbs/hr with a Wabro 255, and a aftermarket regulator running at 90%. I haven't had a single issue, nor have I ran lean. A lot of it has to do with your tune and a good tuner can make that setup work just fine. Yes I should probably go to 750cc injectors but I don't see the since in it as I have never ran lean. They have to quote figures at 100% percent because even though you're supposed to run them under a certain amount it's still usable at 100%. It's just not going to last as long. So let's say it takes 30% more fuel. Okay, so you're using a little more fuel to make more power. It's honestly worth it at the end. People don't believe that you can do it with my setup obviously. But the car runs every day just like it should. It's science and math. If you can do that. Then you're good.
