The only crash I've ever caused was in my own driveway in my first year on a scooter. I duct taped some trim plastics back together and ordered a new brake lever off the internet, and that was the end of that. Feels good.

I can't understand how my son and I can be so different driving.
Me: Three tickets in 40+years driving. No "at fault" accidents.
Him: So many tickets his license has been suspended twice. He's taken the safety course three times. His insurance is so high he can't afford it. He backed into a wall and destroyed the back of a Ford Explorer. He also stopped for gas, opened his door, realized he overshot the pump and backed up with the door still open resulting in the door catching the cement pole by the pumps and completely reversing it.

I bumped into the back of someone at a toll booth as I was fishing for a coin in the centre console.
Embarrassing at the time and costly to fix the other guys car (we kept the insurance company out of it). Doesn't affect me now though and I still consider myself a better driver than most on the road.
