Is GM's new V6 LFX shit?
Too soon to tell. Their inline 6 was trash.
>>14092878
No, it wasn't.
>>14092839
As apposed to? i wondered myself if this engine was better than the 3800 overall but /o/ said it certainly was. has about 260-300HP in the Impala and in Camaro models 2012-2015 has 320
I'm not sure if the 2016 Camaro has that engine or a different engine but apparently they made it sound good as seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qrs0oa-XIV4
I hope it gets some aftermarket love like the eco boost V6 in the mustang: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcuXLuUI8wg
They also apparently were going to make a V12 out of this very engine by sticking them crankshaft-to-crankshaft for their top level Cadillac CT6 model. Too bad they cancelled, that would've been interesting.
>>14092839
No.
GM's 3.6L's are great engines.
>>14092904
Camaros used the LFX from 2012-2015. 2016 model Camaro's use a new version known as the LGX.
The ONLY thing I never liked about the LFX is that the headers are part of the cylinder head. Want aftermarket headers? You need to take the heads off and have them ported.

Still too soon to tell.
>2015
>buying american cars with less than a v8
you got jugged
Too soon to tell
>>14092878
that 4.2L i6 was a very good engine
>>14095934
>Too soon to tell
The 3.6, in some form or another, has been in production since 2004. It's a good engine.

Its a real bastard in transverse trim to change the oil in
Fucking Traverses
>>14095958
The Traverse is a piece of shit anyways.
>Let's make a full-size SUV!
>But we need to appeal to soccor moms!
>I know! Make it a crossover!
so its needlessly huge with too small an engine bay.
>>14095948
>LGX
the NEW version used in 2014+ cars
LFX is the old version,
>>14095973
It's still the same basic engine.
>>14095968
i heard they are terrible to drive
>>14095977
no on it's not
not a SINGLE carry over part.
100% new from top to bottom
>>14095977
fuck off faggot
>>14095968
The engine bay isnt small
the engine is like a foot down in the bay beneath the 6 in of plastic shielding
but that fucking oil filter RIGHT UNDER THE GODDAMN MANIFOLD
even old subies at least gave you a fighting chance to keep your skin since you could play hot exhaust operation with the filter
>>14095991
just let the car cool down a little.
get a wet towel and drape on manifold.
thats how i did it with headers almost blocking my oil filter.
