speaking of which

N/A Eagle Talon 5spd FWD

Strut towers have been booger weld patched, but seem solid
Unibody rail has a small weak point near the back side.

$500, engine is leaky and it needs a $50 control arm.

Should I pull the trigger or not?
>>
>>14091000
Seems like a total shitpile that needs hundreds of manhours to even be presentable, much less desirable. Why bother?
>>
>>14091009
>presentable

I want a shitpile that I can stretch my $500 out of

it drove well enough, clutch was well worn but its probably the factory unit

I just want to know if there is a nice place that makes a strut tower patch pre cut that I can just zap right in
>>

Depends what year. Because second gen eclipse/laser/talon 4g63 have a certain problem called crankwalk

Why did they make this again?

If it was an awd Byan would have had a launch advantage and won Dom :^)
>>
>>14091054
The first gen Talon came with a n/a 4g63 you mook
>>
>>14091054
You're right but you're wrong. First gen had a na 4g63 option the second gen didn't.
>>
>>14091069
Except the post he was replying to specifically said second generation. First generation DSMs have the 6-bolt 4G6 that doesn't crankwalk, second generation NA DSMs have the 420a that doesn't crankwalk.
>>
>>14091094
I guess I'm a shithead for not knowing that. But where I live there is little to no Eagle or Plymouth.

Friendly reminder that the fastest Eclipse in the world is a GS-T Spyder. Why don't you own one, /o/? They're only like $1200 on Craigslist.

You mean the Jett racing one?

Its an 420a 2nd gen

I'm more hesitant the more i think about it.

If you buy it what are you going to do to it?

Drive it?

Practice welding on the underbody using my friends welder?

Make it pass inspection in 3 months and then ride it hard all summer until i get tired of it and sell it?

If i can jew him down to $400 i will go for it

That hole in the frame rail haunts me and those crunchy strut towers aren't too confidence building either
>>
>>14091295
There's 50 cents worth of copper on that high quality amp power wire. I'd go for $400.50. If you're a decent welder, just patch the frame rail and find a junker to cut the shock towers out of and weld them in.

TFATF 1 and Tokyo Drift were the only good ones of the series. They had actual car banter. The rest weren't even the realm of possibility, except for 2F2F which had some believe ability.
>>
Did Mitsubishi ever made a performance red car? Seems like the only performance cars they build were fwd and and and the only performance engine they was the 4g63t and lastly the 4b11t
>>
>>14091823
Early lancers and also the starion

>>14091823
I fucking hate autocorrect.

My question was if Mitsu build any performance rwd car? And the only performance engine they build was the 4g63t and the 4b11t
>>
>>14091826
Early lancers and starion were rwd?
>>
>>14091842
Yes. The Starion was RWD, with an AWD model coming out later on. Lancers up until 1988 when they started basing them off the Mirage (FWD) were RWD too.

I reckon the FTO would've been perfect if it were RWD instead of FWD.
>>
>>14091842
Sure were. I believe the lancer ex turbo was the last of the rwd's
>>
So, a rwd 4g63t swap is possible? Because I think you just gave me an idea to nurture until I have sufficient funds and knowledge about builds.
>>
>>14091894
As long as you reinforced everything else to take it an A70 Lancer would be perfect for a 4G36T swap.
>>
>Warning!!! Danger to Manifold
>>
>>14091912
That's an interesting picture.
>>
>>14091837
>And the only performance engine they build was the 4g63t and the 4b11t

There were also the 6A1 and 6G7 engines. The FTO and Galant VR4 used a 6A12 and several things (GTO, Ralliart Mirage, supercharged TMR 380) used 6G7 engines with varying displacements.
>>
>>14091912
What 4g63t engine is preferable? The 6 bolt, 7 bolt or the evo 8-9?

I'd go with the 6-bolt. Easier to come by and known for being bulletproof, bombproof and expected to outlive roaches when the nukes drop.

There is a time and place for shitposting. We call it a stance thread.

Also I'm retarded. Ralliart Magna.

A Ralliart Mirage would be a right laugh, though. And not one of those CE/CE2 ones ricers here dress up as Evos either, I mean one of those fuck-awful 3 cylinder abominations.

Maybe I'd end up pleasantly surprised since the Colt Ralliart and TMR Colt turned out pretty well, but I can't the new Mirage doing anything without a 4G63 (or 4B12) swap.

Was the FTO made to compete with the Supra? Because it was Mitsu should have made rwd and built a 6 cylinder equivalent to the 4g63

I read your first post and got excited and then it turned out it didn't exist. Fuck, tfw

SHUT UP
>>
>>14092145

It was more like a Prelude/Celica (not even the turbo one) equivalent
It was 6 cylinder. Same engine as the Galant VR-4 but without 2 turbos, iirc
>>
>>14092181
>Same engine as the Galant VR-4 but without 2 turbos, iirc

Yes, it was a 2.0l V6.

Uh, no.
>I reckon the FTO would've been perfect if it were RWD instead of FWD.
Then it wouldn't have competed in the market it were intended.
>>14092181
It was more a competitor to the Integra. The V6 FTOs had 6A12s while the Galant VR-4 had a 6A13TT.
>>

I have a 99 rs with 420a that needs a lower control arm
I'll sell it to you for $499 or one nutt in your butt

best/most painless and effective fix?

Is there a company or way other than taking a trip to to a scrapyard and hoping they have a 2g with a blown motor and pristine body?

the frame rail looked like it could just take some wirewheel and cutoff time and a nice solid piece of diamond plate to fix
