What are the worst cars ever made and why?

Bonus points for creative answers, it's easy to just list every smog era American car that was ever made.

It doesn't just have to be cars that are dynamically bad either, they could represent the beginning of a terrible trend in the automotive industry, be intensely bland and soulless or you just straight up hate them.

It has no redeeming qualities over a normal truck, SUV, or crossover. I have no idea why Honda thought that this thing was a good idea.
>>
>>14089417
It has better fuel economy, supposedly.
>>
>>14089392
"American" but it has weeb eyes.
>>
X3 is actually a decent car. Enjoyed driving it.
Worth the price? Nope, but a good car none the less.
>>
>>14089426
It doesn't, it gets worse fuel economy than the F-150, Silverado, and Ram.
>>
>>14089417
It's more economical than a normal truck, can carry bulkier cargo than an SUV and in most cases actually has a higher load rating than SUVs, including the similar Chevrolet Avalanche even though the Avalanche is body on frame and larger and more powerful and the Ridgeline is unibody. The world would be a better place if all those suburban cowboys drove wholly adequate Ridgelines instead of three quarter ton trucks.

BMW really went off the deep end at some point

>People like SUVs
>So lets take the 5 series and jack it up on steroids
>Right, to X5 is selling well, but people like coupes right? Lets make it smaller again
>But keep the rear doors, you can't have a 3 door sporty SUV
>>
>>14089364
the x3 was nice when it came out
still doesnt look as dated as most early 2000s suvs
>>
>>14089452
It's a ten years old design (read: even before the economic crisis) stacked up against brand new models, and those brand new models only get better economy with their single most economical engines. Also Honda will present a new Ridgeline in January at the Detroit Auto Show and blow everything out of the water again.
>>
I want some of what they're smoking though

>5 series is a luxury sedan
>But people want a luxury coupe
>So make a coupe on the 5 series platform, call it the 6 series
>But people like luxury sedans right?
>So keep the sloping roofline and small trunk, but put rear doors back on
>And sell it as a 6 series still

And Mercedes followed. This thing literally looks like an upside down bathtub.
>>
>>14089469
this. it actually looks good as fuck as far as useless suvs go.

The X series may have started the trend but at least they kept it rear biased.

All the rest have gone fucking gay fwd

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coup%C3%A9

>A coupé (US coupe) (from the French past participle coupé, of the infinitive couper, to cut) is a closed two-door car body style with a permanently attached fixed roof
>a closed two-door car body style
>>
>>14089501
The BMW is a "Sports Activity Coupe®". The Mercedes is a SUV Coupe.
>>
>>14089501
I just want to know who is fucking buying these things?? Why are they making them.. there must be a market. It's unbelievable how little taste people have.
>>
>>14089507
>There are four-door coupes, and two-door sedans, so the differences between a coupe and a sedan automobile may not always be quite clear. In reality, a coupe is strictly defined by its interior volume or space.

>The real distinction between a coupe and a sedan has little to do with doors and are made clear by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), which standardizes definitions of the different types of cars on the market. Measurements of these cars are as follows:

>A coupe has an interior space of less than 33 cubic feet (0.934 cubic m).
>A sedan has an interior that is equal to or greater than 33 cubic feet (0.934 cubic m).

No one actually wants them.
Men want a coupe. Their wives want an SUV. They compromise on this.

That's like describing a cat as a "feline dog". We already have a name for it, "sedan".

A lot of people can't afford 2 cars because they're saddled with another $500,000 of debt from buying a new car every year, a house with 4 bedrooms they don't use and a 4K TV to watch reruns of Seinfeld
