Good taste. Why is it so difficult to find FR/MR's that are under 2700lbs?
I love cars and power, but I'll never part with lightweight and balance, ever.
I'd spend about $1k of it on a Geo Metro and spend the remaining $9k replacing old parts with new stuff and materials so I could weld a new frame for it.

Decent tune and upgrades are cheap. Less weight, more torque.

What county dollars is that? I only know burger dollars but US didn't get any turbos in 95. Even with low miles its still a 20 year old car so make sure it has been taken care of, and not driven 80k in the first five years then sitting for the other 15
>>14087049
US, and we actually did get turbos in '95, it's just that we only got 265 of them since they were running something like $30,000 MSRP and no one wanted to buy them at that price. Figuring it might be a good deal since it's rare here, but I'd have to check it to see if it's in good condition.

>>14087063
Oh nice, I had read somewhere that US only got a few hundred NAs in 95. I would have swopped it up if I was still looking for one, that would be a pretty good deal considering mr2 turbos are either beat to shit/have a ton of miles for <$6k or preserved low mile cars that people want $15k and up for. Hard to find one for sale somewhere inbetween. Best of luck. I recently bought my stock 91 turbo with 72k miles for $8k, and it doesn't have any of the goodies of the later years (does have the nimbler suspension) but I don't regret it at all. Have put 14k miles on it in the six months I've owned it.

saw one of these for 2.4k, but I'd have to pay about 1k more for the full legal papers, let alone the insurance. I'd also need to tow it from a city about 800kms away from where I live.

I'd pick it up if I had the time, skill and space to restore it...
>>14088537
Depends on the condition of both units, I'd only consider restoring it if it isn't a complete mess. If the shell is in good shape I'd say buy it and restore the wankel rotary if savable.
I've taken apart a 13b twin-rotor before and they are easy to disassemble, first engine I had ever taken apart too. They are simple mechanically and changing/upgrading parts isn't terrible.
