I won't be able to buy another car for 6 years
>>
>>14078728
The new Camaro is the best stock muscle car to date faggot

This is literally a fact
>>
Ford Focus ST or Fiesta ST.

First car, I've been working my ass off for 3 years to afford a car up to $30k, and I think I've narrowed it down to those two.

Right now I'm riding a Vespa, and it's not very practical for going to shooting competitions (thank god for OC) or getting groceries in.
>>
>>14078738
>spending +45k on a muscle car
>>
>>14078749
why would you buy a focus when ST when you can buy a fucking 5oh mustang for that much money?

>infinitely better looking
>faster
>cool factor
>pussy magnet
>aftermarket
>>
>>14078770
Because I don't want a mustang?

I'd rather have options, storage space, etc. Plus, if I did get a muscle car I'd buy a Camaro. But I'm not interested in a muscle car right now.
>>
I'm planning on a 997.2 C2S. Drove a non-S in the canyons and absolutely loved it, but felt like it could use a tiny bit more power and suspension, and the S takes care of that. It'll be a weekend car and part-time daily, with my Fiesta ST sticking around and doing most daily duties.

It'll be a few years, though, I stopped working to go get my degree so money will be pretty tight until after I graduate. The Porsche should be 35-40k by then, and I should be able to save up enough in about a year of work once I get a real post-college job.

>>14078749
Fiesta ST owner here, I love mine. Focus ST guys seem to be a little less happy with their cars.
>>
>>14078785

A Mustang is the vehicle of someone who likes cars. A 5oh Mustang that is. If for that ONE day when you need a fuck ton of storage space, rent a truck from home depot. A fiesta/focus just looks like any other random shitbox on the street man.

And trust me, my 5oh has plenty of storage space. I moved out to college in mine for fucks sake.
>>
>>14078770
Focus ST can actually turn
>>
>>14078808
Have you ever even driven the new 5oh?

Are you suggesting that you can get a brand new 5.0 for the same price as a Focus ST? Obviously youre talking about the older generation that can't turn.

>>
>>14078806
No, a Mustang is the vehicle of somebody who wants other people to think he likes cars. You even make it clear that's what you care about when you focus on how the Fiesta/Focus look and not how they drive.

The Fiesta will shit on the 5.0 on a twisty road, and it's a vastly more practical car, not just because of four doors and a hatch but because insurance thinks it's a "normal" Fiesta and because it gets close to twice the real-world MPG.
>>
>>14078770
A used 5.0 Mustang costs as much as a brand new fully loaded ST unless you're looking at something with like 150k miles

>>14078749
What do you value more? Space or fun? Fiesta ST doesn't have much aftermarket support, so once you run out of bolt ons you're pretty much done. You can get it up to around 300whp on e30 before having to replace the turbo. You can get up to around 350hp on e30 on a Focus ST before having to replace the turbo.
>>
>>14078723
I am very happy with my current car but want to purchase some CCW Classics or Work Meister S1 in 17x10, a larger SMIC, and a high-flow cat
>>
>>14078806
>A Mustang is the vehicle of someone who likes cars. A 5oh Mustang that is.
Wow most autistic thing said today. A Fiesta ST is a great car and has more space than a stang. He obviously doesn't need a fuckton of space, just more than what a stand offers. Are you saying he should rent a truck if he has to move small furniture or something similar?

I also like the new Camaro it won motor-trend 2015 Car of the Year for a very good reason

The last gen camaro Z28 was highly praised by people inside and outside america and it could go toe to toe with GTR's and 911's

>see Chris Harris on cars/z28 youtube
>see camaro z28 vs GTR track pack
>see drivers car of 2014

Not the mention JD power votes them as best in their class in dependability

They also lost a lot of weight which means this one weighs 3600 pounds instead of 4000 pounds like the old one so it weighs less than a GTR and the new NSX not sure why all the hate..

Did i mention the V6 version actually sounds good?

>>
>>14078837
A mix of both. I'm moving to the mountains, so I want something compact and can handle well on winding mountain roads, but is zippy enough that I can have fun with it. I'm also looking at an older WRX Hatchback as well, but honestly I'd rather get something new or certified pre-owned.
>>
>>14078955
Get a Focus then, Fiesta ST is like a micromachine

>>
>>14078837
I'm not even sure where to start, if the first thing you go to when deciding if a car is fun is horsepower numbers.

I feel like it's worth pointing out that there are ample aftermarket options for everything regarding handling on the Fiesta, and that 300whp is already more than it can deal with in anything but a straight line.

>>14078955
Go sit in both STs and see how you feel about the size. The Fiesta is much more fun in the twisties, but size can be an issue, especially elbow room with two full-sized people up front. Also, be aware that the Recaro seats break in, I see a lot of people complaining about how tight they are, and didn't get it until I sat in a brand new one and realized how much mine had "opened up" to fit me over the two years I've had the car.

>>14078872
Don't do it, it's shit. My friend owns one and it's been nothing but trouble, multiple check engine lights, issues with the clutch fluid overheating, A/C doesn't work, shifter fell apart, and then he hit at raccoon at 40mph and it smashed the front up so badly that he's in a fight with his insurance company to get them to pay the $25,000 repair bill.
>>
>>14078975
great car honestly. I had to drive it when my car was out of commission and my mom gave me the keys. Handles superb. Quiet as a bird, but you can tackle the corners and flip the weight like a lightswitch. seriously.
>>
>>14078961
I test drove the Fiesta, and honestly it felt like the perfect size. The ride height is nice for my bad back and butt, and the salesman had to help me get out of the Focus. Those Recaro seats in both were great for my back and ass though, holy hell.

I don't know, I'll have to think it over. I want to do a lot of research before I make my final decision. I want to be happy with my purchase, especially if I'm going to be dropping in upwards of $30k in a car.

>>14078980
I'll need to find one, I can't find any for sale. Do you think the new MS3 or MS6 is coming out anytime soon? I know Mazda is focusing on their new Dorito, but I'm genuinely interested in a new Mazdaspeed 3 coming out.
>>
>>14078975

Not sure if that's supposed to be a jab at Motor-trends credibility or not.
>>
>>14079009
Do you hate Jews?
>>
>>14078997
I liked the Fiesta's size, honestly. I'm a loner, so I don't really expect to be bringing anyone else along besides my best friend. I liked the way the Recaro seats felt, especially with my shitty medical situation going on right now. I feel like an old man, I need a cane just to get out of bed in the morning.

That new Camaro is pretty awesome, but it'll probably be 3 years before I can buy a new car and have the purchase make sense. We'll see what the market's like then.

If I buy another car before then, it'll either be an Ecotec donor for my Fiero or a 83-87 Suburban.
>>
>>14079026
Same way here actually. I love the support of the Recaros, I've done 500mi drives in my ST and gotten out feeling good, which is more than I can say of most "comfy" cars. It also helps that I downsized to 16"s, which make a huge difference to ride quality, protect the rims, and don't really affect feedback or handling.

>>14079033
I get where you're coming from, but the 997 handles better, has a much nicer interior, and has the right amount of power for twisty roads, plus the N/A sound is amazing. The turbo is much more of a handful to drive, while the C2S is really playful and encourages you to push it.

depends on what you want to do, the 996 turbo has a much better engine and much better mod abilities, it really doesn't take much in mods to get it up to 700-800 HP which the chasis can handle easily. The 997 c2s has a better interior but will be very difficult to mod. 997 C2S if you plan to stick to stock and 996 turbo if you plan to eventually build an absurd supercar

If you like the Fiesta, then get it. The two people I know who have bought a Fiesta and driven my stage3 Focus have regretted it. Admittedly, none of them have modded their Fiesta and were comparing it to a stage3 Focus. I try to tell them that a full bolt on FIesta will be way more fun to drive than my boat of car but they won't hear any of it and say it's "too expensive"

Thinking of buying a Ford Fiesta ST (uk resident).

Would I be making a mistake if I was buying a 'manufacturer approved used' ST and paying for it over 36 months?

The insurance is alright too, at 19 it would be just over £700 for insurance.
