Why is this acceptable to you guys? I always hear people beating off over jap shitboxes here but I don't know how any of you can handle driving one of these things. I drove my dad's civic today and it was pig disgusting.
What the fuck is so hard about adding a few extra bits of sound dampening? I know they can do it because Acuras are perfectly fine.

Japanese cars are fine mechanically but retards have allowed them to grow complacent and make the interiors out of compacted shit and not focus on the driver's experience at all, EXCEPT for the luxury brands.

This. It's fucking obnoxious. I always think this about Japanese cars. Their interiors are loud and plastic as fuck. Honda seems especially bad about it. I love Hondas, my family has two and I was seriously looking at a Civic but I take a 400 mile road trip every 2 weeks and it gets far too annoying on long drives. The Japanese make fucking terrible seats in their non-luxury brands too. I've noticed this in Toyotas, Hondas and Mazdas. Uncomfortable to the extent of soreness on long drives. I think in Hondas case it's to force you to go up into an Acura model if you want something besides a basic daily driver, but when I got into Acura price ranges I just said fuck it and went with a two year old CPO Mercedes C250 since if I'm breaking the $20k price range, I want RWD. I hope the Japanese brands start making nicer interiors, because they're seriously starting to lag.

was recently driving a 1999-2000 civic hatch. The noise inside the cabin during rain is ridiculous, kinda like sitting inside a dumpster. My dad had bought the car for reselling, got rid of it after 2 weeks, the build quality was laughable. A 1989 BMW 3 series is more comfortable

The reason that german cars are quieter and more comfortable inside is that they are built for Autobahn speeds.
Unless you have driven a german car at its top speed on the Autobahn you can't really judge it properly.

Most people are driving the recommended speed at 130kph (80mph) often going even slower than that to save fuel. Do you honestly expect a 1.9 litre diesel Audi A4 going 100+ mph constantly on the autobahn. In a 10 hour cruise on the bahn you will see like 5-15 cars pushing their limits

Has the C250 been reliable? I had one as a loaner for a month and I really liked it, the interior was great. Not a ton of power but definitely enough for a DD. Seats were fucking great.
