Plastidipping is always considered shit. $5k should be able to buy you something with decent paint, but if not, spend a weekend sanding your car down yourself and take it to Maaco or something for a $500 single stage paint job.

Subaru's transmissions are absolute garbage, that's one thing they never got right. Would definitely not recommend a MT Subaru as somebody's first MT car. They've got goddamn glass synchros and retarded clutches from the factory

This, Mazdas have pretty forgiving manual transmissions. Especially the miata's transmission, that thing is fantastically easy to drive.
