What motor OP?
I had a 2000 with the 2.4 LD9 motor and auto trans as my first car. Got it with 89K on the clock, it's pushing 140K with no major mechanical issues. All i've had to replace was:
Water pump
Fuel pump
Window regulator
plus regular stuff like fluid changes, brakes, etc.
Dunno anything about the 2.2 but they can't be bad. If you got the V6 you're kinda fucked tho.
