I think it's the wheel size. When you put small wheels on the car it gives the illusion that the chassis is way bigger than it actually is. Those are, 14s? 15s or 16s would look better.

those might be 13s the one behind it looks like 15s though.
either way smaller wheels are better. they are significantly less weight (improves every aspect of the car) and provide better acceleration because more final drive reduction
its a balance between bigger wheels like 15's for looks and tire selection or maintaining kind of the original intended performance. smaller wheels help a lot with underpowered cars.
