Are hood stacks gay? Truck I bought came with one. Ordered a new 4" downpipe. Pick related. Mines about 3" shorter

Idek whats going on here im going to go sit down

I dig them, but I am autistic as fuck, so take that with a grain of salt.

You may want to consider putting higher-quality wipers/wiper motors on if you need to scrub shit off the passenger window, and you may want to check your local laws about that stuff (both where the pipe ends and the noise it would make). If your clear on those ends, fuck yeah, its pretty neat.
>>
One of the most moronic things you can do to your vehicle.

>let's not only remove all devices that turn toxic CO into far less toxic CO2, but also make it so the CO gets blasted straight at my face with tons of other carcinogenic crap
>>
I like my coal roller as much as the next guy, but holy shit, in the middle of your hood? Not only is that ugly as fuck, but it's right in your god damn face! The only positive I can see to having it there is that it'd make for a good defroster and maybe if he straight piped it, the smell.

Fuck everyone

Hate stacks are awesome
>>
>>14074175
It's a diesel pickup, until recently no diesel had any form of scrubber.
>>
>>14073993

As a disgusting casual when it comes to diesel light trucks, I think it looks a bit silly.

What benefit does it have aside from being cheap and dirty?
>>
>>14074372
Fast spool, nice sound.
>>
>>14073993
It's stupid.
>>
>>14074397
>fast spool
Because it matters so much in a utility vehicle.
>nice sound
For the first half hour until it annoys you to the point of headaches with its retarded volume.

Pretty stupid when his clean truck gets a huge black streak across the top.

That shit will stain in

It's actually pretty far off to the passenger side. No visual issues. I don't have high egts so I'm not rolling tons of coal until I hit full throttle but even then the smoke is a minimum

>>14074411
Yes both very true

I don't care if the truck gets dirty it's a piece of shit besides the motor. Only reason why I ought the truck was the motor

The 'stack' sticks like 3" out of the hood and its black so it blends in with the black hood. I'll probably test it without the hood stack and see if I like it. I don't know if it comes off as a mcdouchebag

Sidepipes look sex.

I was thinking of this but bringing it out of the side of the bed. Very low but cut a notch at the bottom side of the bed for the dump

sounds good, i had an 89 ford setup like that, 4" under the front corner of the bed. its right at car window height.
>>
>>14073993
I own a 93 12V Cummins and I would only do this if I were to limit the truck to strictly farm work i.e.: it would never leave the property.
I get why it's "cool" but that's also thinking back to when I was 15 and first saw one(im 28 now).
I'm sure in most states(or all) it's illegal.
In Texas the exhaust must exit at least 14 inches behind the cab and in recent years they have really been promoting mufflers on diesels. Used to not matter as a turbo was classified as a sound deadening device. Not anymore thanks to the excessive coal rolling douchebags.
To me it's a waste of a hood.
>>
>>14073993
personally I think all stacks are gay and this is coming from a guy who loves big lifted trucks

I haven't gotten any shot from the popo but everyone loves it out here in the desert. But yet the trucks out here are jacked to the sky just for looks. Here is the stack on the truck. I have a 91 non ic with a 5 speed

Fuuuuu I'm sold on the side pipes. I'm thinking I get a 4" big rig stack and mount it on the side?
>>
>>14074222
Nice facebook pic, faggot.
>>
>>14078779
diesels started using emissions equipment in 2007. the truck in OP is late 80s or early 90s.
>>
>>14073993
Unless you're pulling in competitions, you don't need a hoodstack
>>
>>14078784
Everyone who puts sidepipes on lifted trucks deserves a good gassing.

this is exactly the kind of craftsmanship and work ethic i would expect from someone who drives a p71
