The Sonic is a decent car, and fun to drive. It is among the best in the class, and it only doesn't make sense to consider a Sonci when you're looking at the price range of a Fiesta ST.

Fuck predicted reliability, these are used-car ratings we're looking at. 2014 Sonics were the least reliable chebbies tested. For a 1-year old car to get that kind of rating in CR, shit has to be breaking literally before the first oil change.
The only thing that got the same rating was the 1.4t Cruze. At least the rest of the Chevy lineup made it to average. Average is fine, these days average is actually pretty damn good, there's nothing wrong with average.

People have been calling bullshit on CR since the 70's, and history always vindicates CR in the end. Guess what: The Honda E-series engines REALLY WERE more reliable than the Olds 307.
Their data collection is thorough, they do their own long-term testing instead of trusting random owner surveys like other rating organizations, and you do your case a disservice by trying to discredit them.
