I don't know but my stepfather got rid of his old V6 Grand Am, got a Mitsubishi RVR and said it was "Peppier" than his V6.
The RVR has a 150 hp Inline 4 with a CVT.
Needless to say I KEK'D out loud when he said that.

V6 Grand Ams are lethargic. Plus, pep in a CVT equipped car makes sense. At least from a standstill.

The Grand Am was much heavier and the V6 likely only made 160 or 175 HP, so I can see it.
>CVT
LOL

It was a 1999. The 3400: 170 hp @ 4700, 200 lb-ft @ 4000.
The 4B11: 148 hp @ 6000, 145 lb-ft @ 4200.
The Grand Am is about 200 pounds lighter.
He even said he hooned the Grand Am against his boss' Porsche sometimes. It wasn't the slowest thing out there.
