Honestly, the 86 is a godsend.
Here's why :
Most people who buy a car for their looks wind up buying a high end vehicle which might be "in their budget" for buying, but WAY the fuck out of their budget for maintaining.
We see this all the fucking time. People buy a 10 year old merc which needs some serious TLC to keep alive. They aren't willing to do the work needed and so they get sucked into a money pit they simply can't afford, nor can they sell the vehicle anymore because they've just discovered why they shouldn't have bought that neglected vehicle in the first place.
Turn to the 86 : Its parts are cheap in comparison. It's a simple vehicle, easy to maintain, low cost parts... you can buy one without fear of being sucked into a money pit you have no business being in.
Buy the type 86 : sure you aren't getting a super car, its not a track car by any means... but for highway use it is in fact very fun to drive, and looks sexy as hell : which is exactly what you're really wanting isn't it?
On top of this, it isn't going to destroy your bank account to keep running.
Please, stop destroying our mercs by cheaping out on repairs... buy the type 86. You'll save your account, and our sanity at the same time.

I have a r33 GTR which cost me over 30k just for the car...then over 100k now in replacing old parts and making it crazy fast.
Not that i will regret it, it's a fucking blast and i knew what i was getting into, but just be aware, older cars are going to need maintenance.
